  • St. Louis Blues fire head coach Davis Payne- former Riverman coach

The St. Louis Blues have fired their head coach Davis Payne tonight. Payne previously coached the Rivermen in 2008-09, and part of the 2009-2010 season and had a 62–44–9 while coaching at Peoria. His record in St. Louis was 67-55-15.
They have named Ken Hitchcock the new head coach. The Blues are 6-7-0 and in 13th place in the Western Conference.

Payne must have gotten on the wrong side of General Manager Doug Armstrong or the Blues' owners. It is baffling why they would fire their coach now.

Shocked, Pi$$ed, and confused. As a Blues fan I dont understand this move. 13 games into the season and he gets fired. The Blues are 6-7-0 this year, which is better than the Boston Bruins(defending Cup champs) and the same as Vancouver (who the Blues have beaten twice this season already) who was in the Cup final vs. Boston last year.

What I REALLY dont get is how the assistant coaches just get a pass.

      ugh, dumb dumb dumb move.
