Is it just me, or does it seem like the BF.com General Sports Forum, is becomming just another site for BU Athletic Dept Press Releases?

When 2/3 of the recent posts/threads in this Forum are from BU's Athletic Dept, seems like the original intent of the site has been altered somewhat...

I feel the same way about all the BU Soccer Program press releases/threads/posts now invading the College Basketball Forum on BF.com trying to drive interest in that BU sport.

Is this a site for fans to talk college basketball and other sports, or, just another outlet for BU Athletic Dept press releases? www.bradleybravesII.com?

Perhaps another Forum or two should be created on BF.com, "BU Athletic Department Non Basketball Press Release" Forum, along with "BU Soccer Program" Forum?

    Just sayin...

I think it is fine the way it is. We still have plenty of other topics on this board, and of course, many more on the main basketball forum. I appreciate announcements about BU sports being posted here, since it saves me having to copy and paste them myself.
You're getting awfully crotchety in your old age, aren't you?

I slightly agree. I didn't say anything and I certainly never thought to make another forum for the department but maybe there should be a single THREAD for each sport that doesn't necessarily get a lot of attention. For example have a thread for Golf and post all the updates in that thread (as opposed to making a new thread each and every time there is an update). I'm on AZ's side here it's a little annoying to see all of these new threads spawning up with no replies in them, it's becoming like a twitter account in here.

Besides the benefit of doing it that way is you can see the "timeline" of the season as it progressed rather than seeing individual updates scattered throughout the forum. Just my opinions, I don't think it's a terribly big deal but it does irk me a bit.

I love the fact that Mr. Parker posts here. I can live with a soccer player thread or two in order to get timely news from the horse's mouth.

I'm fine with soccer as it gets at least a decent amount of traffic, but let's be honest do we need a whole new thread for every update for golf/track/volleyball/cross country, etc. No offense to those sports, I wish them the best, but in all honesty the traffic and the desire for information is nowhere near it is for even soccer.

I have absolutely NO problem with BU posting info on this site. In fact, I greatly appreciate it! I'll let the Moderators determine if anything needs to be moved to a different forum.

Besides, I kind of like that the BU Administration has their eyes on this site...... Keeps certain people honest. jk

Not much basketball to talk about yet, so I'm fine with it. These kids all represent Bradley.

We are very fortunate to have BP posting things and responding to other posters' questions...
this doesn't happen anywhere else... and I think it shows an incredible desire for those at BU to help keep the Bradley fans as informed as any fan base in the nation...

I happened to be talking yesterday with someone who's fairly well connected -- who noted that not only is BU's fan base so incredibly strong - but they are also so amazingly generous and financially supportive of BU athletics...
Every once in a while something might cause certain "fans" to up and leave - but BU still has perhaps the strongest and most supportive fan base of any similar school..
sure, some might say Creighton draws more fans to home games, but....
they do NOT have bigger crowds at road games or in StL than we do most years...and they don't have the donor support directly to athletics that BU has.

AND -- thus -- certain other schools are not only jealous -- but even a bit miffed that BU is doing reasonably well when so many of the state-supported schools who leech $ right out of the taxpayers' pockets are actually in FAR worse shape...

I think it's thru the efforts of people like BP to stay in touch with the best element of the fan base so they remain strong and loyal!!
If you don't want to see or read what BP has to say - please note the title and the author of each thread is clearly denoted and just stop clicking on the thread you don't want to see.

It might be extreme to refer to this site at BradleyBraves.comII, but as I view it, you are not far off. BradleyFans.com is a site for Bradley fans to virtually gather and discuss Bradley Athletics. Granted, the number one sport of interest here is Bradley Basketball, but we have a lot of good things to share with our fans in all of our sports and I hope the new additions have given you a wider range of topics to discuss.

Ideally, I want BradleyBraves.com to be the number one online destination for all information related to Bradley Athletics. One way for me to reach that goal is to make sure our most dedicated online fans know to check out the latest news.

Rather than posting our releases verbatim, I try to give you enough information to allow you to decide if you would like to learn more. Hopefully, you click through to read the latest news, then decide if it is a topic worth discussing here. We hope the majority welcome the updates and find them worthwhile additions to BradleyFans.com.

I am happy to post these links wherever and however is deemed most appropriate. In the case of soccer, the moderators recommended I utilize the basketball forum. I can certainly utilize the General Sports forum or any newly-created forum if that is the desire.

With that being said, if the majority view the information a waste of time and a nuisance, then it is also a waste of my time and I will gladly seek out better methods to spread the word about Bradley Athletics.

I think you have found the best way to spread the good news about BU Bobby; I applaud you for your efforts and the time that you take to keep us informed. Keep up the good work!

I sure hope you don't -- and I would point out that of your most recent 6 or 8 threads about BU athletics...
every one of them has at minimum dozens of views within the first couple days...but some, like this thread about BU soccer...

                            ....draw several HUNDRED views

and then this one about the Chicago tickets..

...draw well over a thousand views and dozens of viewer responses...
On many teams' message boards you simply cannot find threads with that kind of activity very often...
So I say keep posting BP!

                              I agree with AZ.

too much not so happy news
it's hard to be positive here

stick with soccer and basketball releases
if the softball or baseball team does well... ok
if a team or individual actually wins a title or event... very ok

                              individual accomplishments... ok

we know where to find other sports news

is it just me that doesn't like to read the words
falls, swept, drops...we had enough of it last basketball season
I know the drill, don't read it, but it's a thread title so how can you not
