Bill Ott and Jill Briles come to mind if I remember correctly. Both Peoria products.

This teams' last year at Bradley Dave won the conference tournament and Bill finished 2nd. The team finished second. Bill owns Illini Golf in Peoria and has had a number of the top junior golfers in the area work for him over the years. Bill's dad Buzz is also in the Hall of Fame.

Agreed, its the only place in Peoria that I would do any golf shopping. I also always make an effort to stop in and see Bill whenever I am in town.

Now that I work at a course her in Missouri however, I get a better deal through the head pro's contacts

As a member of the Bradley Men's golf team from 1981-1985 we had great success under coach Jim Spink. Coach Spink assumed the Golf Coach positon in the fall of 1981 when the current coach Billy Stone suffered a massive heart attack and was forced to retire. Although coach Spink was the swimming and diving coach he was a great motivator and hated to lose. The Hall of Fame Team included,
                            Dave Wettlaufer
                            Bill Ott
                            Steve Douse
                            Jon Diggetts
                            Sam Beck
                            Greg Jones
                            Dave Witek

The year of that the team finished second in the MVC tournament, the team had won some tournaments and came in second on several occasions against tough competition including many teams from the Big 10.

Peorian Bill Ott was leading after three rounds at the 1984 MVC tournament in Wichita, only to be surpassed by Dave Wettlaufer the final round. Wettlaufer would go on to repeat as the MVC Medalist in his senior year and was also inducted into the Bradley Hall of Fame and the MVC All Century Golf team.

Can't believe I missed Jones on my guess of that team that finished 2nd to the ICC Cougars!! They lost a keg of Michelob to the winners!! (Of course only over 21 enjoyed the beverages)
