The Braves play their home opener Thursday night at 7pm at Shea Stadium against Eastern Illinois.

Eastern Illinois is no longer part of the Missouri Valley for men's soccer. They have returned to the Summit League for this season, after playing in the MVC since 1996.
They are 1-0, and won their season opener at Northwestern 2-1 last Friday-

EIU played in the Summit League, then known as the Mid-Continent Conference, from 1983-1995. EIU won five regular-season titles as a member of the Mid-Continent Conference. Last year in their final season in the MVC, the Panthers finished 4-12-1, 1-7-1 and missed the MVC playoffs.

In the Summit preseason poll, they were picked tied for 5th.
The Eastern Illinois men's soccer team was picked to finish tied for fifth with IUPUI in the Summit League's Preseason Poll as selected by conference head coaches. The Panthers open regular-season action at Northwestern on Aug. 26.
