  • Jim Thome to Cleveland

Jim has been traded back to the Indians where he belongs. Good move for the Indians.

I like to see him return to Cleveland, but I was hoping that he would end up in Philadelphia for a chance at a World Series ring.
      Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

Boy do they still love him in Cleveland. Just got off the Indians web site. At his first game back most of the crowd was waving signs which said Thomecoming. Also the Indians are having special Thome tickets packages and also will honor his 600 milestone on September 23rd.

Were those the same people in Cleveland who booed Jim mercilessly for the 4 seasons he played with the White Sox and held up signs calling him a traitor?

OMG The White Sox next three are at home with the Twins (who they just cannot beat ) and then three at Detroit (6 left with Detroit)...will it all be over by Labor Day...probably.

Remember, the last 3 game series against the Sox had against the Twins, the Sox swept them (Aug. 5, 6, 7) in Minneapolis.

The Sox also won 2 of 3 in each of the last 2 series they played against Detroit (July 15-17 and July 25-27), though they need to do better than that this time.

Sorry, guess I just thought it probably meant a lot to Jim. Also don't think the fans are setting up the ticket plans or planning the 600 memorial celebration.

Go to Indians.com to see a great tribute to Jim as he homers on his day.

Jim plays 3rd base for 1 pitch in Cleveland's last home game of season.

Indian's website says Jim is leaning towards playing next season, but will have to discuss it with his family first.
