I'm not a Union guy but let's not just single them out about abuses of the system. The reason Unions became strong were due to workers being abused. With power (money) comes corruption and unfortunately the ability for these organizations to do what is right instead of what pays them becomes prevalent. Now on Big Z, his teammates should have a vote on how they should handle this. I'd believe he would be on the street if it was up to them.

I agree with everything you said except the last 2 sentences. When your teammates say they would welcome you back if you changed your ways, they obviously cant see the big picture. And in reality he will never change his ways which makes you part of the problem IMO.

It was just easy to single out unions because even though one person can disagree with one stance of the union they have to comply with the union or risk losing their job. With my moral compass that is something that I just would have a hard time dealing with personally.

Even I, a bleeding heart liberal, like to point out how crazy the MLB Players Union is. It's so powerful and so willing to strut its' power, it pretty much does what it wants. Remember when the Texas traded A-Rod to the Red Sox? It was a done deal, until the union stepped in and nixed the trade becase A-Rod agreed to take less money (the union thought it was way too much money to give up, so they nixed it.)
