  • Obit- Randy "Macho Man" Savage

One of the most popular pro wrestlers in recent history Randy "Macho Man" Savage has died. He apparently had a heart attack while driving and lost control of his vehicle. He died from injuries suffered in the accident. He was only 58 years old.
Randy Savage was also a minor league baseball player under his real name Randall Poffo.

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

I used to really be into wrestling.....early-mid 80's and went to see them whenever they came to Peoria. One of my favorite memories was going to an autograph session with Macho Man and Miss Elizabeth . I have a picture of that somewhere. Anyways, his feud with Ricky Steamboat was classic, especially when they were inside a steel cage!
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

Randy "Macho Man" Savage was truely one of the best wrestlers to ever step foot in the squared circle. He was also one of the very few ones who retired in his 40's and stayed retired. Macho Man could do it all. He could wrestle with the best of them, brawl with the best of them and especially talk with the best of them. Along with Hulk Hogan he helped bring wrestling into the modern age. Why the WWE hasn't inducted him into their Hall of Fame is beyond me. FREAK OUT! FREAK OUT! DIG IT! OOOOOOHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHH!

It has finally happened! I had forgotten about this post and I happened to come upon it and I am very pleased that the WWE and the Poffo family have settled their differences so that the Macho Man Randy Savage will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame at WrestleMania. OOOOOOOOOOH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
