PCS beat IVC 3-0 to advance to the Regional Final against Bloomington Central Catholic who won over Williamsville 3-2..
both games were played in a hard, cold driving rain withg 30mph winds..

Manteno beat Kankakee McNamara 6-0 and Peotone beat Beecher 4-0 so Manteno faces Peotone Tuesday in their Regional Final in Peotone

Hersher faces Urbana in the Herscher Regional Final

Decatur Lutheran beat Riverton 1-0, and Warrensburg beat Decatur St. Teresa 3-1 and they will meet Tuesday.

Princeton faces Mendota in the Mendota Regional Final

PCS beats BCC 3-0 and advances to the 1A Sectional against Manteno..
this is their 3rd consective season of making the Sweet Sixteen or better..

      The Sweet Sixteen includes...

      Warrensburg vs. Herscher
PCS (has not lost yet to a 1A opponent) vs. Manteno (last year's runnerup)
Chicago Parker vs. Winnetka North Shore Country Day
Chicago Christian vs. Elmhurst Immaculate Conception
Rockford Christian vs. Elgin St. Edwards
Rockford Lutheran (last year's 3rd place) vs. Princeton
      Rochester vs. Alton
      Collinsville vs. Columbia

Many people's favorite for repeating this season as State Champs was Quincy Notre Dame -- but...
They were held to a scoreless tie in their Regional Final by Rochester -- and then again scoreless in four OT's and Rochester wins on PK shootout

Herscher loses to Alton Marquette in Class 1A soccer championship
In the end 3 of the Final Four are private schools, as well as 5 of the Elite Eight, and nine of the Sweet Sixteen were private.
Multiplier has not altered a thing...silly effort -- but it has failed except to push teams into unfamiliar regionals and force a few schools with little chance of winning anything to play up a full class.

In Class 2A -- all our local schools are done -- except for Peoria Notre Dame in the Elite Eight facing Lemont on Tuesday.
Morton lost 2-0 to Notre Dame and Dunlap lost to Geneseo.
Half the remaining eight Class 2A schools are private schools...Clearly the Multiplier isn't accomplishing a thing

In Class 3A -- there are no local teams that advanced beyond Regional Finals as Pekin lost to Normal Community --
In the Elite Eight even tho there are VERY, very few private schools playing at the 3A level -- there are still private schools in the Elite Eight.
