There is a bit of a possible "cheating scandal" involving the New York Yankees, and it involves former sportscaster/former political commentator Keith Olbermann.
Keith Olbermann is a Yankees season ticket holder, and he saw a man in the crowd behind home plate signalling to Yankees batters after each pitch.
At the time, Olbermann did not know who the man was, or what he was doing. But after posting the picture on his Twitter page, the Yankees were forced to explain it. Now their story is that it was a Yankee employee who was signalling pitch types and pitch speeds to the Yankees batters.
Turns out that this practice is banned by MLB. Major Leage Baseball operations bulletin C-4, forbids team staff from communicating pitch types and pitch speed to players via hand signals.

The Yankees are saying this practice is because their scoreboard pitch indicator/speed device was not working, but Olbermann says this practice happened at home games all during 2010, too, so that explanation seems a bit insincere.
Now that the Yankees have been caught, they say they will stop the practice-
