agree completely - one single product - growing tobacco - has been subsidized by the US govt. to the tune of well over $1 billion in the past decade.
If you count all agricultural subsidies - the total grows to well over $100 billion
why does the federal government have to tax people who work just to hand the money freely over to other people who earn way more then those being taxed?
I am sure some will say "but people need food" so we should subsidize it...
But people also need clothing, pharmaceuticals, and medical care...so we should subsidize all of those??
