Bears controversy

I'm sure most know the story by now, but it is on the networks in the Championship games as far as who gets to sing the national anthem, not the Bears. Apparently it had gone viral to the point where the networks now want Corny to sing the national anthem and moved DeWise to halftime for the star spangled banner. (of course they are trying to promote American Idol this year).

Side note: Just listed to the score this afternoon and they had corny on (caught very tail end), but I guess he has a chest cold and is very hoarse. Hopefully all is good come gametime.

Rodgers signed the ladies stuff a couple of times before, and she came out in his defense. She was just going back for seconds, and Rodgers said he didn't even see her.

I'm a Bears fan and I do not blame Rodgers for this. He seems like a class guy.

I heard an interview yesterday where he basically said the same thing. He said he had ear bud in and was listening to his iPod and was not paying attention and never saw her. I believe him. He has always been a class guy, and has signed stuff for that lady before.

Once, in his rookie year in Denver, 45 minutes before a game, surefire Hall of Fame safety John Lynch was trying to explain something to Cutler about NFL pass coverage. Except Cutler wasn't looking at Lynch. He was texting.

"Man, I'm trying to talk to you!" Lynch protested.

Didn't help. Cutler was all thumbs, head down. Finally, Lynch slapped the phone out of Cutler's hands, smashing it to the floor.

He listened after that.

One time, Broncos coach Mike Shanahan thought it would be helpful for Cutler and Broncos legend John Elway to have lunch. Let Cutler drink in some of Elway's experience.

The three of them sat down at a Denver steak joint. Elway, polite as ever, tried to impart some wisdom. Except Cutler wasn't looking at Elway. He wasn't looking at Shanahan, either. He was looking at the TV. The whole time. With his baseball cap on backward. All the way through dessert. Elway did not leave impressed.



He's a great interview too.
reporter (after a game): What happened on that first interception, jay?

Cutler: I threw the ball.

Reporter: Right, but what did you see developing there? Take us through it.

Cutler (archly): It seemed like a good place to throw the ball.

Then there was this:

Reporter: When you were a kid, which quarterback did you look up to?

Cutler: Nobody.

Reporter: Nobody? You didn't look up to anybody?

Cutler: No.

I have never liked Jay Cutler because I do not think he is a good leader or teammate, nor a high quality person. However I am a Bears fan, so I still root for the team.

Thought I would let everyone know.... again... that the tickets did indeed show up.... but they were falsified, and they were to the Seattle Seahawks game last week.... I'll be getting a full refund from ebay, but you can imagine, i'm devastated.
