      2009-10 Jenny Maurer 14-16 .467
      2008-09 Jenny Maurer 8-20 .286
      2007-08 Jenny Maurer 5-22 .185

ok so in 3 years she did show improvement.....but you have to when you are at the bottom.

the only thing that matters is that she is a coach from out east

This really frightens me for future hires in other BU programs. To say I am underwellmed on our hires since the new President took over is an understatement. It seems the top priority is someone from an area that the Prez or AD worked with before.

+1. I wish the new coach luck, but she's just going from one project to another (and won't the best EC players go to Penn State?). I'm hopeful that the standards are not slanted towards only one thing, such as caring more they make honor roll/graduate all players than winning (and vice-versa).

So did I read that correctly? She didn't have a winning record in college?

                1. She is experienced (3 years)

                2. Took terrible team to average sub .500 team

Sounds like the perfect fit to me.

                  VB Coach

I think you are wrong on this hire. She took an 0-29 team and made them .500 in three years. She is very smart and extremely articulate. The fact that she is currently on the east coast played no part - she is a native of St. Louis. Let's give her a chance.

I will give her a chance. I didn't mean to insinuate anything. I was just curious if I had read the article correctly.
