Well it's different SFP...if the O's had Albert Pujols, Matt Holiday, Chris Carpenter, and Adam Wainwright as well as some young studs that have had injury or consistency problems this season (Colby Rasmus, David Freese) and two middle infielders that hit .300 last season whom all naturally have high expectations and this is the result that we get...it's a bit different.
Example, and I'm not knocking the cubs, if I were a cubs fan I wouldn't really have gone into the season with high expectations and therefore I'm not as disappointed because well I pretty much expected this. If you're a cardinals fan you expect to go the playoffs and compete for a world series with the names and expectations that the team has..yet we can even compete for an ice cream cone right now.
It's two totally different situations. I'm not whining..merely disappointed, as were cubs fans two years ago in the playoffs.
Whoa...I had my avatar thing turned off because I was on my laptop at work one day and I forgot to turn it back on till now. A guy gets curious when stuff like that is said haha.
After watching the second night in a row of being 2 hit and shutout by a very marginal team in the Astros, it really appears that this version of the Cardinals has officially quit.
I have never seen so many hitters swinging at first pitch, zero patience. Holliday looks like he is simply guessing at the plate. Wandy Rodriquez is a nice pitcher but STL made him look like freaking Steve Carlton last night.
This trend of falling apart with about 6 weeks in the season is getting old from the Cardinals. I think it has been something like the last 3 or 4 years this has happened.
If you are a team that wants to contend you do not go on a 10 game trip to Pittsburgh, Washington and Houston and lose 7 out of the first 10 games played. That type of play is absolutely not acceptable.

i felt like we would go 8-2 at least.
and the best part? We will sweep Cincy to get back within 5 games.
In a way this proves that the margin of error for the Cardinals is small. Something that I have been saying for a while. With the Pujols contract coming up, the Cardinals were unable to make a significant move to help them in the pennant race.
Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final
???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™
