  • Question for Reds Fans

What do you think of this Phillip's Fiasco?

I had no problem with the Reds or their fans/reporters/other media until now.....

Their media is saying things like Cueto wasn't kicking Carpenter in the back and LaRue in the head? ???

That deal tonight was a joke. I hope this is it for the Reds and they drift away back to the bottom like usual.

PS What is a better comeback? Yadi hitting a homerun in his next at bat or.....Phillips going 1-10 and ending the game twice.

LaRue just got put on the DL for possible broken ribs. Why was Cueto not kicked out?? Cincinnati fans are the worst. We went to the Bears-Bengals fiasco last year in Cincinnati fans hurled f bombs on us the entire game, even after I reminded them my 8 and 9 year old boys were present. Totally classless.

Cueto's kicking moves with his cleats on is about as bushleague as it can ever get. He thinks it is ok where there are no punches thrown to start kicking people with metal cleats on. He deserves a big suspension. He also deserves a ball right in the middle of his back when ever he plays against St Louis again. You dont slide high with spikes you certainly do not kick someone with spikes.

Phillips is nothing but a punk. He is going to disrespect the Cardinals and call them all little bitches then come out the next night and try to tap Molina on his shins, like it is all cool. He deserved to have his mouth punched. Typical punk all talk. His mouth just woke up the Cardinals.

To me Phillips was just trying to get some headlines probably because it isnt all about him in Cincinnati. I guarantee his clubhouse isnt real happy with all the shots he took at the Cardinals. And if your going to talk it you better back that mouth up on the field.

Btw nice game the Reds played last night, could they have been anymore horrible? And the Molina shot was great but seeing Phillips do nothing and end both games with weak ground balls was better.

I learned to hit the cutoff man in 5th grade.

Holliday does it and we get Edmonds at second.

Gomes sends airmail and the 3 runs score with a runner advancing.

PS: I am just starting the game from today on DVR so this is last night.

Great job by the STL fans with a standing ovation and "Yadi" chant in Molina's first plate appearance tonight!
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

            LaRue retires due to concussions.

Only a matter of time before Cuerto gets his. And whatever he gets he deserves all he gets, kicking people with cleats on, pure goon move by a pure punk.

Wow I never saw that until just now. I went back to rewatch the video of the fight....Cueto is whaling away with his feet at anyone that comes near. What a p.o.s. and a disgrace. I'd say that even if it were a cardinal player doing that. That's just ridiculous. The video I watched was a good one...you can actually see the kicks hitting larue's face and seeing his head fling from the impact...he got him more than once..it was 2 or 3 times his cleets made good contact.

I was expecting something to be done instantly or news made.....I haven't heard anything.

So we think the MLB is still going to lay down the law?

LaRue decided this awhile ago because of his head problems now.

As a Reds fan, I thought the whole fight was stupid.

Phillips comments were made off-handed in the Reds locker room. He never expected or meant for them to be public.

The Cards catcher should never have started a fight. That lead to the very ignorant actions of Cueto.

It is a shame that LaRue suffered the injuries that he did. I wonder if MLB needs rules about players and coaches coming onto the field. The NBA has those rules in place.

                  Sad situation all around.

You really truely believe that what Phillips said was never going to become public? You run your mouth, with reporters around the way he did, its going public, if you dont want it public dont say it.

But the fight was not started by Molina. Phillips started the whole thing by running his mouth, period. You say things about a team, then you go out the next night and try to act like its all cool, he was dead wrong. If he just steps into the box, nothing happens, STL is not going to put one in his back, they want to get him to go 0-for.

This whole thing was started because Phillips is jealous of the spotlight Gooms has gotten this season and he wanted some attention. Phillips is a straight up punk and because he is a punk with a big mouth, a guy get kicked in the face by another punk who is wearing cleats and his career ends.

I really dont care much for any team overall in the MLB but I do follow it and I played 4 years of college and I know this much... if you disrespect another team you will be dealt with. Phillips disrespect the Cardinals organization and Molina did the absolute right thing by getting into Phillips face. Cueto did the absolute wrong thing and I guarantee you he will be dealt with eventually by the Cardinals.

Cueto did do the wrong thing. I said that in my post.

But Molina started the fight the next night. Phillips always taps the ump and the catcher before his first at bat. It was nothing different than usual.

If Molina doesn't flip out, the fight doesn't happen...period.

Again, if MLB had the rule the NBA has about players coming off of benches, this could have been contained.

What do you think 100% of players in Molina's position would have done............If Philips wouldn't have tapped his shin guards nothing would have happened. It was def. not time for the "usual."

@ Houston - Jealous over Votto or Gomes?

I would hope most of them would not start a brawl that injures players and ends a career.

                            lol.

They would all get in Phillips face and tell him he is a ******************.

How was Molina supposed to know Cincy had a grumpy manager with a childish attitude and a pussy wuss pitcher that should be suspended for a very long time.

Enjoy this season......the only dynasty in the NL Central will be back and back and back like usual.

                              What?

What does the manager have to do with Molina fighting? And doesn't Molina know who the manager is anyway?

                              Who is the dynasty team?
