I heard some people say it would be a miracle if the White Sox could even get back to the .500 mark by the All-Star break. But here we are at the break, and the White Sox just won their 8th in a row and their 25th out of their last 30 games to take over sole possession of 1st place in the AL Central with a 15-5 clobbering of the Kansas City Royals. The Sox hit 5 home runs, and are winning with a combination of great pitching and great hitting in the last month.

I don't get this...Ozzie brings in Thornton for only 13 pitches and then Putz for only 19 pitches. Putz, one of our best pitchers and warmed up is taken out to start the 9th. He brings Jenks in to start the 9th and then Santos. Why four pitchers in two innings, we had a 3 run lead going into the 9th - why not just leave Putz in the game after only 19 pitches. I think Ozzie lost this one. We should be 2-2 on this road trip, but now it's 1-3

How about having the DH sacraficing and having Pierre try 2 squeeze plays in a row. I feel the same way about how he handles the pitchng staff. Jenks is not the best closer on the team and hasn't been all year. This game today could come back to haunt the Sox.What part of illegal don't you understand?

Season of Streaks for the White Sox!
Their first streak went 11 games
They followed that up with an 8 game streak
And this current streak - 12 in a row at home!!
Those are good numbers.
Go Sox! Go Braves! Hey Braves, put together a streak this season!

I agree with this guys take on Guillen http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports...4251069.column Don't agree about Ditka, it wasn't his fault that several key players left for more money after the championship.
Regarding Guillen, he's good with the lineup, he's not good with his decisions with the starting pitchers and relief pitchers, out too soon or too late, he thinks too much/over manages/tries to look good but often looks bad in his decisions regarding the pitchers. I've talked to others and listened to some post game shows on the radio and I'm not the only one that feels this way. I hope we make the playoffs and I also hope we have a new manager next year. One that can make better decisions.

Ozzie's obsession with the righty/lefty pitching switches, and starting the 7th, 8th, and 9th innings with pitching changes has been responsible IMO for several late blown games. If a pitcher is doing well, leave him in the game. But Guillen pulls his pitching switches way to frequently, as if he is trying to put his stamp on every game to feel like his moves won the game.
