The Arizona Diamondbacks fired their manager A.J. Hinch, and replaced him with Interim Manager Kirk Gibson. Gibson, who spent most of his playing career with the Detroit Tigers is best remembered for a late game home run he hit as a LA Dodger in game 1 of the 1988 World Series when he limped around the bases on a couple bad legs. He was ther NL MVP in 1988.
He was a bench coach for the Diamondbacks before getting the promotion to manager.
