I am going to put this discussion on the General Sports, even tho it is basketball related..
ESPN has ranked all the NBA franchises, and of course he has the Lakers & Celtics at #1 and #2...
although I would certainly have placed the Celtics at #1 and Lakers at #2...as some of the Lakers' success is so long ago that it happened back in Minneapolis....
But here's the travesty...this jerk ranks the Bulls at #4, and places the Spurs at #3!!!!!!
He also ranks the Suns next ahead of the 76er's and and even has the Bucks & the Thunder ahead of the Pistons...
his system is bizarre and has even the New Jersey Nets ahead of the Wizards, even though the Wizards have quite a history back when they were the Bullets!
The Bullets even have one NBA Championship (1978 ) and seven divisional titles...
note one of his criteria is that wins count as a single point apiece (he even notes that this is the source of 82% of all the points awarded!!).....
...but he awards four points for an entire playoff series won.........
think about that...even the worst team in the NBA will still win 20 games, so that's the same credit as 5 playoff series won...
I think he's giving way, way too much credit just for winning games against bad opponents like the ABA had (like the worthless San Diego Sails) back when almost all their franchises flopped and failed.
