  • Cubs' Zambrano suspended by team

Did anyone else see this? Zambrano allowed 4 runs in the 1st inning to the White Sox, and most of the hits were rockets, including a 3-run homer by Carlos Quentin. But after the inning was over, Zambrano was livid and started jawing at Derrick Lee in the dugout apparently, it was speculated, he was upset that leadoff hitter Juan Pierre's grounder got by Lee down the line for a leadoff double to start the inning. Lee was playing even with the base to prevent against the bunt, which probably was the team's strategy, and because of that, he did not have time to move over to the line to get to the ball. But Zambrano appeared to think Lee was dogging it, and seemed to blame him for the inning going bad.
Cubs manager Lou Pinella, and GM Jim Hendry have called it embarrassing and unacceptable. "It has become a bit of a tired act."
Zambrano was taken out of the game after the 1st inning, sent home, and suspended indefinitely by the Cubs.

But would a little harder to trade this jerk. Who would want to pick up his salary when you have to suspend him every year? I say pay him and let him sit. They're throwing their money away on him anyway.

There's always a sucker looking for potential but then again if Lou can't control him maybe he's just controllable at all.

The whole team is terrible, I stated that in a rant on here in the offseason. This terrible year was easily predictable. There aren't many likable guys on the team either. They should just scrap this team and start over, these guys are not going anywhere anytime soon.

Zambrano is a bad clubhouse influence and he should be gotten rid of, I've been tired of him for years now.
