North Korea picked the wrong game to allow the country to watch yesterday. North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il usually doesn't allow the citizens of North Korea to watch outside sports events, and instead restricts TV programming to documentaries extolling the greatness of himself. Here is a story about how yesterday's 7-0 loss to Portugal was embarrassing for the team and the North Korean government-

He and his father are/were totally insane, I don't get whatever he or his father were/are trying to do. The thing about Seoul is, it's within easy artillery range from north of the DMZ. If there is ever a reason to use nukes again, I say lay down a line of one mile radius tactical nukes across their positions north of the DMZ, and trust me, they've got the positions. That is if they ever start sending artillery shells into Seoul. I love South Korea. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-h9YE_-SZM

Anyone been following France and watch their match this morning against South Africa?
The French are a terrible bunch - they totally suck - they lost to winless South Africa and almost got blown out and embarrassed.
Couldn't happen to a bunch of nicer guys...

Argentina even using their bench shows why they were the class team of their group. I'm still wondering what Greece was trying to do in that game. They needed a win and Argentina controlled the ball and the pace the whole game. I thought at least they would try to pressure the ball a bit more when they fell behind.
The Argentina/Mexico game in the next round should be a shoot out. I predict 4-2 Argentina win. So far 3 Latin American, 1 Asian team to the next round. It is not looking to good for the Europeans right now and especially the African countries."Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."

Watching this US-Algeria match. The US got very lucky as a defensive lapse in the 6th minute lead to a wide open shot from close in the middle of the field by Algeria. Should have been 1-0 Algeria, but the shot bounced off the crossbar and it's still 0-0 after 16 min.
What is with the US giving up these early scoring opportunities? Hopefully they will pull together and win this match. They probably need to win to advance.
In the other Group C match, it's England 0-0 with Slovenia after 16 min.

The US just scored on a great offensive push at 20 minutes, but the linesman called an offsides. Replays show it was a questionable call.
IMO, the World Cup officials do not want the US to advance.
England has just taken a 1-0 lead over Slovenia, so if that stands, a draw will not do it for the US.

The refs and side officials in this WORLD CLASS event are pathetic...
with the replays, we see that nearly 50% of all the close offsides calls are called incorrectly when re-shown in stop action...
And - yet another BLOWN call took another goal away from the US!!
This has not only happened twice already in this World Cup, but similar calls cost the US games in each of the past two World Cups...
Here is the infamous hand ball that the referee apparently did not see & allowed that killed the US in 2002 and stole a goal from the US that would have prevented our elimination...
June 21, 2002 - Michael Ballack scored in the 39th minute and then Germany held on for a 1-0 victory over a feisty United States side and advanced to the Wor...
