There aren't a whole hell of a lot of weak points in Spain, but they are back on African soil, and the last time they came out to play here, they lost their 15 game game win streak and 35 game no loss streak to some pompous little upstart program named USA. Their strikers and midfielders are fantastic but finesse players. If you play them physical it can disrupt their game a bit especially with Torres up front - course even then you still have to make it past Puyol/Pique/Ramos and then there is Casillas.... which is a problem.Walk on, Walk on

It was a great game, but I feel like there was a little hometown advantage given by the refs. I personally just wanted to see a great game, but I feel like Mexico was cheated out of a couple fouls and I thought a bad offside or two was called.Walk on, Walk on

Originally posted by Fyrebyrd View PostActually I was being quite serious. Spain is a great team, but if there is one African nation that could really play with them, its the Ivory Coast. Spain and Ivory Coast play a similar style upbeat attacking game and Ivory Coast has some great players who aren't being given credit. (Kalou, Eboue, the Toure brothers). And we have all seen that Spain's team can be stopped (Confederation Cup, anybody?). Czech is exactly right, you play physical against Spain and they crumble. So as I said, I think the Ivory Coast has a great chance if they play Spain.Sungani umoyo womseko na wokonda waumbiri anznga.

Originally posted by CzechBrave View PostYeah i agree. Spain is a strong favorite, and I wouldn't put the house on Ivory Coast, but they can hurt you. I get the chance to watch a lot of Futbol, and there are only a few players this year that have been capable of playing at a level at times during the season where they are just simply unstoppable - Rooney, Messi, and Drogba. On days when Drogba wants to play at his highest level (which isn't necessarily all the time) he is as good or better than anyone in the world. Throw that in there with Yaya, Kolo, Kalou, etc. and you are definitely right - they could be something amazing.

Originally posted by Future Walk-On View Postgot yah. but if Portugal and Brazil come to play (esp. Portugal)......the I Coast won't even advance.
BTW...They are showing the USA game all over town in SF. They are even opening up the ball park and showing it on the big screen for free."Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."
