After a ridiculous overtime goal by Patrick Kane, the Hawks win the Stanley Cup!!! Has to be the most ridiculous finish in Finals history since only one person knew that the puck went in immediately and that was the guy who shot it. Just absolutely unbelievable.
... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!
I'm behind you 100% Bradley Braves, You'll Never Walk Alone! BEAT STATE!
Way to go Hawks! I heard reports on WGN this morning that the team is still partying around Chicago and I can't blame them!
Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final
???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™
For those that want to watch the parade which starts at 10:30 this morning, this site is putting it online live http://www.wgntv.com/ It's a great route and there are going to some great camera shots of Chicago. Of course, if you get WGN you wouldn't need to watch it on the computer. They say live coverage starts at 9:00. They already have some interesting videos up at that site. Very happy for the Blackhawks and fans
BUF, I'll second that emotion! Go Bears! Maybe the White Sox or Cubs can make some noise too. The White Sox usually don't get it started until Summer starts and Summer hasn't started yet, so Go Sox. I don't dislike the Cubs, my brother is a Cubs fan, I'm just a Sox fan first And first and foremost are the Bradley Braves!
What can I say! 8 in a row now for the White Sox, Go White Sox. I'd like to see any Bradley Braves team with an eight game winning streak or more. Go White Sox, keep it going! http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/gametra...r;links1728905
9 in a row now for the White Sox ! I just figured I'd post it here in this thread. If things look good a couple months from now, I'm sure someone will start a White Sox thread
The Sox are 37-34 and just 2 1/2 games out of 1st place now, and just 2 weeks ago they were 24-33, and 9 1/2 games out, and close to giving up on this season and unloading a number of their players.
Can the Sox make it twelve in a row today... I think so.
If you've got a half hour or more go here and click on the first lower video and do nothing more, put it on full screen and let it run, some really good highlights from the games during their streak.. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/vide...cid=mm_cws_vid Edit: I think I put up the wrong link, click on the game recaps on the side of that link, click on the first one and it will keep running.
Can't wait for the Braves to go on an eleven game or more streak this season, Go Bradley!

That 11 game win streak was huge for the Sox. They are now 1 1/2 games out of first place and even getting close to being in a position for getting a 'wild card' if they don't finish first. I think good things are in store for the Sox this season, a good quick defensive team with some power and pitching.
Well since this thread has been continuously bumped to the top by BU RICK, how bout we get back on topic.
A lot of people are thinking the Hawks can repeat next year, but is it really possible? I know they kept the core of the team but so far this summer they have gotten rid of Byfuglien, Eager, Sopel, and Fraser, and then in the last 24 hours the Hawks have shipped off Versteeg to Toronto and Ladd to Atlanta. Going to be a very different looking team next season.
The official National Hockey League website including news, rosters, stats, schedules, teams, and video.
Like most Hawks fans, I was hoping they could find a way to re-sign and keep Versteeg and Ladd, or at least retain one of them. They are both young (24) wingers with a great future. Nobody knows much about the younger players they received in return for these guys, but I think they must know what they are doing.
I would think they will re-sign goalie Antti Niemi and defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson, their last 2 restricted free agents. But these moves, plus the likely dispatching of Cristobal Huet, should give them a lot of money under the salary cap to sign a couple other players to replace the guys they lost or traded.
Hawks fans might like this move- after losing a lot of toughtness with the departures of Dustin Byfuglien, Andrew Ladd, Adam Burish, and Ben Eager, the Blackhawks added maybe the toughest guy in the NHL to their roster last pm.
John Scott, 27 years old, a 6'8", 258 pound bruiser was signed to a 2-year deal at $500,000 per year. Scott played last year for the Minnesota Wild and plays both forward and defense. But his main asset is as a tough guy/fighter. He will help protect the Hawks' skill guys.
Check out the YouTube videos here that show him pounding a couple other NHL tough guys. He's the big guy in red.
