  • A new trend?

newspapers that sell their front page to advertisers and place a fake front page that fools the readers?

I know all newspapers sell advertising space, but this is totally different...
The LA Times sold out to a request by Disney to put a FAKE front page on their newspaper that was NOT identified as an advertisement...
and a lot of people fell for it and were confused...
the newspaper themselves even put their banner and logo at top to be sure it really looked like their own front page!!
PLUS, they even put two fakes news stories (actually they were real stories from a month ago) just to further make it look like it was the real front page and NOT an ad.

"tough economic times and lower ads sales have forced newspapers to tear down
the ethics wall that separated a paper's front page from advertisers."
"What offends my traditional sensibilities is the notion that you would be willing
to deceive the reader into thinking that this was the actual front page," Clark said
