So can anyone tell me why David Lee is not considered one of the top FAs coming out? He gets little hype, but as far as I can tell he's one of the better coming free...

Take the link BB posted, at their short list at bottom you have several guys I'd rather have David Lee than... Examples:

    Marcus Camby
    Manu Ginobili
    Ray Allen
    Luis Scola
    Brendan Heywood
    Kenyon Martin
    Tyson Chandler
    Joel Pryzbilla (????? WHAT???)

Even with some of the more popular names like Carlos Boozer, Rudy Gay, and Amare Stoudemire I think you could argue that Lee is at least comparable...

Ya, Lee doesn't get much love. He was almost left off the all-star team because of his bad team until someone got hurt. I remember in the summer when there was a rumor of him being traded to the bulls, and many bulls fans did not want him because he "doesn't play defense" and "wouldn't play as good if he weren't if D'Antoni's run and gun system" All I know is I wouldn't mind having his numbers in the post, and to get all those rebounds you must do something on defense. I would want him over Boozer actually, because of Boozer's reputation for having a bad attitude.

I love Manu's game but would be completely shocked to see him leave San Antonio.

I'm assuming that you guys haven't watched Lee play much. He puts up far better numbers than he should. He's probably the best player on a terrible team with no big man or true scoring threat. He's Lee is just not that good of a player, and he wanted way too much money. He wants the money for a 20/10 player, but he's no Amare or Duncan. I'm not sure how much better he is than Noah overall. You get better offense for worse defense and have to pay probably twice as much. I'll pass. There are a lot of players that put up huge numbers on bad teams that most other teams don't want because they just aren't that good.

Only ever seen Lee play once, and I saw really good footwork and fundamentals, coupled with decent athleticism. Might have just seen one of his better games.

That's all true. He's a decent role player; a possible #3 on a good team. The real problem is that he wants star money. He wanted $10 mil/year last off-season, but he's probably in the 5-7 range. He's also a 6-9 center...

Look at all the unrestricted Bull's players. The Celtics have a lot of free agents too.

Who's on track to become a free agent in the summers of 2010 and 2011? We've got the lists.

Good article about potential landing spots for LeBron James.

Here is one semi-delusional writers suggestion- the Bulls could land Phil Jackson and Kobe Bryant-

For right price, Bulls just could land Kobe, Phil
Thank you so much for Eric Peterson’s story, “Left without a home.” The story broke my heart and gave me continued empathy for those who just need a little extra “hand up” and not a “hand...

Agree. Bosh is the guy I want most (after LeBron) but if you miss Bosh and end up with Joe Johnson (or LeBron hehe) and you take David Lee as your second FA I think he could be a great pickup.

Barry Rozner is one of the most respected writers in Chicago. His focus is usually the Cubs, but there have been other articles by other outlets suggesting Kobe may have renewed interest in coming to Chicago after this season. I personally think both are longshots, especially Phil. However, with Jerry Krause out of the way I wouldn't say it's impossible...just maybe one in a million...so I'm sayin' there's a chance...
