The video of this accident is horrific. Pictures surfaced of EMT's doing CPR, but after going chest-first into a steel beam at 88mph, there is not much that can be done. What a tragedy.

The video is scary, why do they have unpadded steel beams around the track. Granted at 88mph it might not have helped, but at least it would've been something.

I was surprised that NBC chose to include the video as part of the Opening Ceremonies coverage. It's a tragedy and I hope whatever changes they make to the venue prevent any other injuries or worse.

NBC still has the video posted online. I can't believe they still have this posted as this is a horrible accident and I'm not sure this should be on the web. However for those who want to see what happened, I will post the link, but I have to add the following comment...

WARNING WATCH AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!

            This video is disturbing.

NBC has apparently taken the video down. I just went to show my gf the video because she heard how bad it was and I was going to show her just how bad but it is no longer there. Glad they took it down.

They also said last night that they would never show it again.
