  • Ron Turner OUT!

As reported on chicagobreakingnews.com. So what good is a press conference if the news is always leaked out ahead of time?!

Anyway, not a shock here, and probably a good thing for Lovie. Hopefully they surround him with an offensive coordinator that can tailor an offense for Cutler which will make it easier for Lovie to concentrate on his head coaching duties.

The Bears news conference is scheduled for 2pm, so none of this is official until announced then....but numerous sources are reporting the firing of Ron Turner, and also that the Bears considered offering the job of defensive coodinator to D-line coach Rod Marinelli, but have now decided to hire someone from outside the organization for the D-coordinator job.
    Lovey appears safe.

Here is a report that Marinelli will be named the D-coordinator, but now more verifiable sources are saying that's not true, and the Bears will hire someone outside the organization.

ESPN is reporting that former Rams coach Mike Martz is interested in the Bears Offensive coordinator job-

Likely other Bears coaches could be fired as well, such as tight ends coach Rob Boras and quarterbacks coach Pep Hamilton-

Thanks for the info Coach. It should be interesting to see who exactly is making the decisions at Halas Hall. Is it Phillips, Virginia McCaskey, Angelo??? Who knows. But that's what should make the press conference interesting!

The problem with bringing Martz is that he will want to be the head coach and could become a big headache in the locker room. He did a decent job in SF but his ego got in the way of conceding to the head coach.

Leach is rumored to be getting offers for a head coaching position with the Raiders. I'd also have to believe the Weiss would be a better personality fit for The Bears IMO to go along with what he did while with the Pats.

Source: Former Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis is interested in the Bears' offensive coordinator position.

guess Culter is doin some lobbying for recent Bronco's QB coach (go figure).

I personally think weiss is an amazing O-coordinator. Good mix of running and passing but would have trouble meshing w/ Lovie's "running off the bus" mentality.

I think Martz knows how to use talent, thus creating the greatest show on turf. Wouldn't mind seeing him as well, but i also wonder if his "absoulte" interest in the job is because he thinks the head coach job will open up next season and wants to be sitting in the front row when the teacher starts giving out candy

All and All, this is exactly what we thought would happen...and I am happy that the bears are looking for guys that will properly use Jay Cutler
Gloria: Who's side are you on?
Jay: She's my daughter, you're my wife. Let's remember what's important, there's a football game on today

The Bears let Chico Rivera go (Defensive Coordinator), promote Bob Babich, strip him of his powers, now they fire their O-Coordinator....what's next? Fire the Special Teams coach? When is Lovie held accountable? How bout Jerry Angelo? This reminds me of when baseball teams fire their hitting coach because they're 30 games below .500

Good luck Bears fans: --actualy he may be pretty good---
Just heard that the Bears inteviewed Jim Chaney who is an Offensive coordinator at the University of Tennessee for their Offenssive Coordinator position.

Prior to Tennessee, Chaney coached Drew Brees and Kyle Orton at Purdue when Purdue ranked in the top ten total offense 6 times under Chaney.
He was also an Offensive Line coach for the Rams.
