Cubs Outfield Scenarios

Anyone care to guess how the Cubs are going to solve their outfield woes this season? I believe the Winter Meetings are over and there still doesn't seem to be a viable outfield solution. They are high on Tyler Colvin who got a cup of coffee with the big club late last year. As of this moment Milton Bradley is still a Cub....as is Kosuke Fukudome....Looks bleak folks.

The Cubs will release the player that is projected to be their best hitter this year. They're not going to be able to clear his salary or get anything in return without paying most or all of Bradley's salary.

The new ownership has made it clear that they are not increasing payroll so if they don't clear Bradley's contract you'll likely see scrubs in CF and Fukudome in right.

Personally, I think the only way they compete is to have Bradley in right field in '10.

Time for Hendry to eat his mistake and pay to get rid of bradley.....they have enough new money just from the $4 to $5 / seat price hike!

I recently heard a Jim Hendry interview where he indicated that the Cubs weren't done yet. They're still actively looking for a reliever and "maybe another scenario in the outfield". Not sure what that means...but looks like we're not going to see Tyler Colvin in the outfield in Wrigley this year. He mentioned James Adducci as a possible utility outfielder....
