  • Worth it?

    Just heard on ESPNChicago,
it would cost ND 15,000,000 to fire Charlie Weis, and another 15-20 mil to fire his staff.
on top of that another 15,000,000-20,000,000 to HIRE a new staff.

    here's the question:
    Is it worth it?

Weis, i believe, has won 1 game against a ranked team in the past 5 years. You could blame the transition team the past 2 years...but this year they had an ELITE offense, and they are still doing the losing thing.

    thoughts?
Gloria: Who's side are you on?
Jay: She's my daughter, you're my wife. Let's remember what's important, there's a football game on today

ND alum have very deep pockets, to some it would be money well spent.

I heard talk on a sports-radio show that some wealthy and influential supporters are trying to get Urban Meyer from Florida.

Why not take the coach from Florida, it worked for Illinois. Didn't it?

Charlie Weiss prior to ND was a pretty good NFL coordinator and he has done a good job with ND's QBs. Where he has not excelled is in the ability to attract the very best players to play there. In the NFL that would be no problem.

I wouldn't mind getting Weis as a coordinator...He does a bad job at motivating and hiring personell
if someone does it for him...then it shouldn't be a problem

in a related note Turners' play calling has been a joke...not impressed by him this season

How much money would ND make if they regularly competed in BCS bowls, and won a couple national championships?

ND has its own private national network television deal with NBC, don't think buyout cash would be a problem with them.

In addition, how much more money could ND ask from NBC if they were actually really good and a national champion?
