Two more at Sea who are 12 1/2 games out.
And the next nine games are at home!:
    3 against KC (58-86)
    3 against Min
    3 against Det

Then the final six are on the road:
    3 against Cle (61-83)
then the final 3 against Det

Whoever put this schedule together knew what they were doing, Chi, Min, and Det all in the top 3.

    Go SOX!

There's still a very good chance it could happen

Rick, I am a big Sox fan, but "very good" is not how I would characterize their chances.

I hope I can come back and say "say what?" a couple weeks from now
They still do have a very good chance

If 6.2% represents a very good chance then I'm with you. Anything can happen, and I hope the Sox can pull it out... But I think it's very very unlikely. Then again, with their historic collpase, the Mets proved last year that almost anything is possible

Well, I certainly guessed wrong on this, didn't expect them to lose 2 of 3 to Sea and 2 of 3 to KC and 2 in a row to Min. Oh Well

After watching the Shaq vs Albert Pujols episode on ABC, I'm going to root for BU EMT128's Cardinals. All the red & white in stands will help me get closer to the start of Bradley Basketball.

At least the Bears won their last game.

Hate to say it, but "wait till next year." Get rid of some of the dead weight, find another DH if Jim doesn't come back and go out and get a real bullpen a different closer. IMO Ozzie has to take a lot of the blame for his handling of the pitching staff.

The pitching staff can only do so much..
The Sox's offensive stats tell the story...

Their team BA, OBP, SlgPct, runs scored, hits, RBI, and just about every other offensive stat are well down in the bottom of the AL..

oddly the Sox hit more homers than most teams, but if nobody's on base, then it often doesn't help.
Dye at .248 and only 74 RBI, and of course Carlos Quentin's disappearing act are just more parts of a broken offense.

There have been many disappointments, but Dye's collapse is the most surprising. On July 17 he was hitting .303 with 21 HR and 58 RBI. 2 months later, on Sept. 17 he was at .248, 25 HR, with 74 RBI. Only 4 HR and 16 RBI in 2 months, and a 55 point drop in BA! In fact, he hasn't hit a HR since Aug. 28, and has only hit 2 in the last 8 weeks. OBP has dropped from .378 to .335, and Slugging Percentage dropped from .574 to .444 in those 2 months. He has been atrocious. This is his free-agent season, and he has managed to reduce his market value by 10's of millions of dollars just in the last 2 months.

I think Ozzie is the dead weight. He creates alot of turmoil with his mouth. I cant figure him out. After a stretch of bad play by the Sox you are very likely to hear him go off on EVERYONE, publically ripping on a player/players, and telling everyone that is who I am. He says I don't care what GM Ken Williams says and he can fire me if he wants to.
Then it will be, "don't talk to me, I didn't play". "I've got nothing, go talk to the players". Maybe the players have the answers cause I don't. Weeks later after another loss Ozzie will go into his, "don't blame the players, blame me" mode. Look at me, I am taking all the responsibility for our poor play so lay off my players.
Then this recent rant where he said that if the players are quiting on him then he is quitting on the players. Are you kidding me? Does the owner, players, or fans ever want the leader to quit? For any reason?
The only consistant thing about him is his mouth. The reporters like him because he gives great quotes. His words go in many directions and because of that the players do not trust/believe him. I think it is time for Chicago to question his ability to manage a team.

Agree 100% BuB, it's time for a change. He's lucky he works for an owner who is very loyal to his former players.

Your right BU Rick. He is lucky that he works for Kenny. I would also say that Contreras, Colon, Garcia, and maybe Rios are lucky to have a job. Ozzie's off field relationships with his Latin friends have not paid off for the Sox. Only Toronto is happy with how the Rios deal turned out. The 3 pitchers are 10-22 in 40 starts

I think the Sox bullpen does a great job of hitting the other team's bats. Linbrek cost them many a game throughout the season. Unless it's a perfect game, Ozzie must have something against complete games by his starters.

Forget it Chico it's over No one player stepped to the plate They played just enough to collect their pay checks, not win a post season play By sending Jim T. packing, didn't help a thing, when the season could of this been won I hope Jimmy gets his ring!

That's why I said earlier wait till next year. I know, I sound like a Cub fan. Still surprised by Williams sending Jim to a NL team. Don't think he did his chance of getting 600 homers any favors. He has lost a lot of at bats this month. That being said, I hope he at least makes a World Series appearance and then signs with an AL team and gets his 600.
