USA Men's National Team (MNT)

The MNT is playing the Confederation Cup and has made it to the semi final against Spain, which is ranked #1 deservedly. The US's national coach is being severely criticized but I like Coach Bradley's demeanor and believe he'll be able to get this team to the next level. In reality the talent level of the team is second rate compared to the top 10 teams in the world. We are a bit slow and do not process a striker with a killer instinct. The game against Spain will be interesting and I expect us to lose but I'd like to see what fight this team has against a much superior team.

I also wish for one we would have a ref that could call a game against us that would not be so controversial. The first game against Italy they gave one of our players a very very questionable red card. At best it should have been a yellow. The next game against Brazil the ref called a phantom foul which resulted in a Brazil's first score the next play and the a red card that was not so questionable against us. Then against Egypt there was a clear handball in the box against Egypt that was not called.

We just beat the #1 team in the World Spain 2-0!!! We'll play the winner of Brazil and host S. Africa on Sunday 2 PM EST.

Also we got another questionable red card! I swear these refs must get a bonus for red carding our team. I've seen harder fouls from women games where not even a yellow card is drawn.

GO USA!!!

The game was incredible. Altidore's goal was phenomenal. The defense down the stretch had to be fantastic and it was. The red card should have been a yellow card at best. The explanation was that he went in "studs up," but that happens all the time and his foot never came off the ground on the slide, if it were knee level a red card would be warranted.

In any case, anyone who missed it, its being replayed on ESPN2 at 10 tonight. WATCH IT!
