Tough subject for all involved...but get this...
Some of Cat's layoffs are at their French plants, and just now the French courts
have just ruled to prohibit the planned layoffs of 733 workers.
In other words...the courts are telling Cat who to hire and fire, but that will possibly
backfire in the long run, as Cat is smart enough to gradually shift those jobs elsewhere
and in the long run the courts might save a couple hundred jobs now, but make it
far harder in the future forcing many, many more jobs to be relocated.
