Anybody out there have any experience with satellite radio, XM and Sirius have merged what should do or don't do?

I just ordered my radio and will be activating my service in the next week or so.

I've had Sirius in my vehicle for over a year. I wish I had the PGA channel, but it is on XM. I do use it quite often, especially when we just traveled to Gulf Shores. Much of Kentucky, Tennessee, and Alabama are like radio-free Europe.

        Murph--
I had XM for a year as a gift...it was fun and I enjoyed all the extra sports, talk shows, and even some of the funky music channels like bluegrass and 50's...
but in the end I let it expire and did not renew, even though the cost would have been affordable.
The reason for me was simply that there's still enough on regular AM and FM radio, or I could get some CD's.
Even though I am in my car probably an hour a day, I also converse with the family and make phone calls, too...leaving only about 20-30 minutes a day of trying to justify the monthly fee, which is bound to go up just like cable TV fees as time goes on....so I decided if I dropped it now, by the time I junk that car I will have saved well over $1500.

Muprh, all that T said about the cost etc is correct. I subscribed for a year to xm which bascially means you save one month's worth of fees.
The reason I subscribed is that I am not fond of the formats on Peoria radio stations. How many times does a person have to be subjected to AC/DC or classic rock in one day? I am also in my car around one hour per day. It depends on what your preferences are. For local radio, I listen to WCBU, Bradley broadcasts on WMBD, and a Cubs game every once in a while, so my choice was easy.

I just got sirius along with a new car about a month ago... It's free for now, but I'm not sure I'll really renew it. It's not cheap, and I listen mostly to The Score when I'm driving in the evening. As I take a few driving trips I'll see if I think it's really worthwhile or not (I tend to listen to a lot of CDs when on the road for a long time). If it was cheaper, like $4 or $5/month, I'd do it.

It's my season and I'm going to be on the road a lot this summer so I'm going to go for it, I'm not much on music, I like the talk stuff nowadays.

The packages they offer are as bad as cable TV, you're not sure what is what so I think I'm going to start out small $7.95 @ month and go month to month and see if I like what I'm paying for. And to think a few years ago I swore I'd NEVER pay to listen to the radio.
