Sun-Times files for bankruptcy

This has been rumored for months. The Sun-Times Media Group, who runs the Chicago Sun-Times and 58 other smaller newspapers, has filed for bankruptcy.

The Sun-Times joins the Tribune Company who filed for bankruptcy last year.

Yes and no.
Yes because newspapers seem to be similiarly run by owners that think they are in the local paper printing business, not the news business (much like railway owners that thought they were in the train business not the transportation business)
No, because those profitable websites listed, if they provide news, it is reprinting news gathered from other "wire" sources and the news is secondary to their main business objective.
