  • About time!!!!!!!!!!

Baseball is so close I can taste it

    let's start a thread w/ a few rules

    1) YOU CANNOT MENTION A-ROD and A-ROD STEROIDS!!!!!!

    that's it
I'm tired of not being able to talk/watch baseball stuff w/o talking about A-Rod
Gloria: Who's side are you on?
Jay: She's my daughter, you're my wife. Let's remember what's important, there's a football game on today

I played college baseball and have really enjoyed the game as a player and fan for all of my life. But I personally am done with the sport, unless it is watching a college game or going real cheap to a minor league game.

The lieing, cheating, high price of tickets, the high price of everything inside, the outrageous salaries, the way the players lie and talk lawyer double speak when answering any questions, the way the players and owners want to move on when all they all did was lie and essentially steal from all of us with the steriods etc. I really dont care about MLB anylonger. It doesnt matter in the grand scheme of things but they have lost a long time fan.

I know what you are talking about with your post Houston. After the last strike, I was done with baseball. I got into the game a little with the Mcgwire-Sosa home run duel hype and thought what everyone thought.. But strangely, I have gotten back into watching baseball in the last couple of years. A large part of this I believe is because the Cubs have been decent I am sure... Heck I have been digging through the Bill James Baseball Historical Abstract during the off-season for fun!! I am ready for spring and am actually fired up now that pitchers and catchers have officially reported... and even Milton Bradey showed up!!!! Hope he proves me wrong, but I dont like the Cubs signing Milton Bradley. Am I as big of a MLB fan as before...no...but I am ready for the season to start.
      Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

I'm looking forward to nothing mroe than sitting back
        cracking a beverage
and watching 9 innings of baseball
it is such a relaxing great game to let me space out for a bit

i do understand where you're coming form w/ the hating baseball Houston. I suppose it's just the fact that I grew up w/ baseball in the house and am refusing to admit the "corruption and such" that you're talking about.

However, I just love watching the cubs play

You know I dont hate baseball the game. I hate the flat out lieing players, owners, the union think they can give us as people and we just will accept whatever it is they say.

Rodriguez sits there yesterday and tells everyone it was a cousin (unnamed) who bought something in the DR, took it for 3 years, had no idea what it was, tells us he was young 24, when he was 27, that the taking of whatever it was, well was just a bad choice by a young person, even though he was in his late 20's and was the highest paid player in the game.

He expects everyone to just beleive him regardless of how stupid and made up it sounds. Same with Selig, dont blame me, I tried to do everything I could to get testing invoked in 95, it was the Union.

The whole thing is just a shell game, they dont and wont tell any truths because they do not have too, because they know that we are just sheep and when the calendar turns to April we will all pack up the car and head to the ball game or flip it on because that is what we have been programmed to do.

If what happened yesterday when a man sits there and winks and smiles at you and expects you to buy his pile he is selling, or when the guy who runs the entire operation says none of this can be put at his feet, and you buy or choose to ignore it, thats your call. I am tired of it all from this sport.

I'm trying to decide whats more exciting.

            Watching grass grow.

            Watching paint dry.

            Watching baseball.

              Hmmm...

It is pretty close between watching grass grow and paint drying!
Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope.
