Indiana vs. Notre Dame in Hawaii-
Notre Dame ran out to an early 20 pt lead and clobbered the Hoosiers.
Matt Roth started but was very ineffective against Notre Dame's defense.
He forced up 3 three-pointers from well beyond the arc and missed them all and went 0-3 and didn't play much in the 2nd half, totalling just 13 minutes.
Notre Dame was 10-26 from 3-pt, while Indiana was 1-12.

Wright State embarrassed at home by Miami (OH) 55-37
Florida loses to Syracuse & UMass also loses....all losses that hurt the Valley RPI

Western Illinois played well but loses to Florida State 67-55

Colorado State loses at home to a DII team

Davidson beats FAU 76-60 with Stephen Curry scoring 39 on 13-21 from the floor and 5-9 from 3-pt.

Wichita beats Centenary 65-44, Stutz 22

Wisconsin gets pummelled 76-57 by UConn, and UConn wins the Paradise Jam in USVI

New Mexico beats Cal State Northridge 85-74 but Xavier Crawford does not play.

ISU fans will feel better about this one....Washington loses to Kansas 73-54 as Justin Dentmon continues to struggle. 1-5 in 25 minutes, just 2 pts.
Scott Suggs was 1-1 from 3-pt in garbage time.

Iowa State loses to Hawaii, 60-59, ISU's Diante Garrett had 26 but nobody else did much.

The college game is very different than the HS game Mr Roth!
    Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

Matt Roth is overmatched at the DI level. He's not Big 10, or even MVC material.

He's only a Freshman! Not to many first year players can make an impact at this level. If you said MR is not NBA material I'd believe it but otherwise give him time to grow and make the adjustment. I'm not a MR fan just being a realist. IMO we need a MR like shooter for that last scholarship.

He's not athletic enough to compete at the Big 10 level, and I question whether he is athletic enough to compete at the MVC level. Athleticism isn't something you gain with experience, you either have it or you don't. Yes, we need a shooter on this roster, but Roth wouldn't be what I had in mind. He's not athletic enough to be able to get his shot off against DI defenders. A Jeremy Crouch-type is what this team sorely needs. Unfortunately, the JC-type players we went after last year ended up at Michigan and Purdue.

Indiana plays a bad game and now we have to go easy on their players?

Nope! Indiana sucks and they're gonna hear about it.

I like Matt Roth and I would have loved to have seen him at Bradley!
But we all know IU has MORE people coming in than they have scholarships available for, so someone is going to go after this season.

It really has to be difficult to know you are being recruited over and that you are having to play every game as a freshman in hopes of retaining your scholorship for next year let alone 3 more years.

I have a feeling ISU will eventually get themselves a nice transfer.

You may be right here but I think the jury is still out. Roth is not ever going to take over a game and will only be effective if he has good players around him. Let's see what happpens the next few years.

Matt Roth's stats after 3 games, two of which were vs. pretty soft opponents

                      3 games, 18.7 mpg, 6-18 (33.3%), 5-16 (31.3%) from 3-pt, 4-4 on FT, 7.0 ppg, 1.7 rpg, zero assists.
Actually, the 31.3% from 3-pt range is the best on the team, and as a team IU is shooting 25.0% from beyond the arc.
He is the only scholarship player who is playing more than 6 mpg and the only scholarship guard who does not have an assist.

IU is tipping of vs. St. Joe's right now
