Did anyone else watch the Bulls game at Utah? I watched on a justin.tv link, and the game went back and forth for the 4th quarter. The Bulls won it on a second chance shot at the buzzer by Larry Hughes. Bulls 101-Jazz 100. Rose had another great game, 25 points, 9 assists.

Rose is a star. I'm pretty sure he'd do OK in the Valley.
Seriously though, Jerry needs to stop using the Bulls as his secondary White Sox fund and start treating it like a real basketball team. The Bulls have a franchise player in Derrick Rose, and need to put a team (and a coach) around him. The Bulls are the most profitable team in the NBA, yet spend money like small-market team struggling for survival. Enough is enough. Derrick Rose is a true joy to watch. I can only imagine him with a real NBA team and coach around him.Onward and Upward!

Wish I'd've watched. Instead I followed up the Bradley disaster with an equal personal bowling disaster. Sure, it's a for-fun midnight league with nothing at stake-- but even I have some personal standards.

For everyone who hasn't watched Bulls basketball lately...
DO IT
Watching Derrick Rose is unbelievable.
He's fast
He's versatile
He's fantastic
do it
as for not treating the bulls like a legit team to the Sox...
just wait until 2010. Such a big draft class I can see any number of fantastic people coming to Chicago and completely turnign around the team...including...mr. James
Bulls are going to be great once Derrick Rose gets a serious contract and the bulls bring in a Center
look out Eastern Conference
also,
Seeing ND destroy Indiana....fantastic. Makes me forget about the piss poor football season they've had this year
Go IrishGloria: Who's side are you on?

Lebron wants a legit PG...that's pretty much what his criteria is for a team.
Cleveland can't provide that to him.
He wants big market basketball (LA, Chicago, NY).
NY can offer the big market...but maybe not so much in the PG dept.
Chicago can give him big market and PG
and I'm pretty sure the "talking heads" of the East are just that...talking heads
who knows...2 years from now Lebron will be in Europe maybeGloria: Who's side are you on?

I'm not sure Chicago can clear enough salary in time for LeBron's free agency. I was able to in NBA 2K9, hehe, but we all know that bears nothing on reality. If they can clear it, they should strongly consider it, because a team with Rose and LeBron would be a real force, I think.

According to this site-- http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=9193
Bulls salary cap situation in 2010-2011 is as follows-
Players they'd have to keep
Hinrich - 9.25M
Deng - 11.36M
Nocioni - 6.85M
Rose (Option) - 5.55M
Total - $33M
Options-
Noah - 3.13M
Thomas - 6.26M
Sefolosha - 3.82M
Total - $13.2M
The salary cap itself should be just over 60M somewhere in 2010-11, though maybe not if our economy contracts a ton between now and then...
If it were me I'd try to trade Nocioni for a player whose contract expires after 2009-10. I'd also probably not re-sign Thomas or Noah.. Sefolosha, if he develops along a bit. I would also trade Deng if I could for a similar type of deal... A player whose contract expires. I just don't think Deng is very good, and if by moving him I can sign LeBron and some pieces, I do it in a heartbeat.
If you could pull all that off, you could have Rose, Heinrich, James, and roleplayer PF and Centers (a guy like Kendrick Perkins would be sweet), and I think a pretty good team. It's a lot to risk though, since James may just stay in Cleveland.
My NBA 2k9 franchise for 2011-12 has Rose, James, and Garnett (an older, cheaper version) plus a drafted mediocre SG, and drafted Turkish import PF (#2 pick or something). Expect to win the championship. If only life were like video games.
