at (3-0) and not having any real threats over a 40 min game, they are the class of the Valley, and more importantly, they have 3 players averaging 15 ppg so far in Stinnett, Woodfox, and Witter.
2 - ISU - 38 points
(4-0) and if they had played anyone of note they might be higher. I will say they have two guards that have been overly impressive in many eyes so far, and they're not named Oguchi and Eldridge. They are junior guards Landon Shipley and Lloyd Phillips who can both put the ball in the basket and pass the rock with efficiency.

and yes, I know SIU is actually 2-2, but if the NCAA doesn't have to recognize their first win, neither do we. Has SIU shown you its good side? Yes... Its bad side? Most definitely! It takes a decent team to be in games against Duke and UCLA in The Garden at the beginning of the 2nd half...Then again it also takes decent, or what some call these teams, mediocre to then get absolutely blown out of the arena the last 10 min of each game. So I ask you, what SIU have you seen? The bright spots are the better play of Carlton Fay and the skills of Freshman Kevin Dillard. The weak spots, the team is still subpar scoring the basketball, Mullins is still not 100%, it now looks like they are going to lose an inside body in Nick Evans, which certainly doesn't help as all of their inside players have thus far failed to stay out of extreme foul trouble, AND worst of all, it seems they really have no killer instinct or go-to player like the teams of Tatum, Brooks, and Carr from the past.

there is much work to do, but playing Florida competitively and winning against a tough UIC team w/o your leading returning scorer and various injuries that have slowed others, I would say thats on par for where Bradley is hopefully headed. All in all, the brightest stars have been the junior college transfers, Dodie Dunson and Chris Roberts, one of which (Dunson) who was tabbed as more of a defensive threat (18.0 ppg) and the other (Roberts) who was supposed to be a step behind because of the transition from junior college. Not so with Chris Roberts (12.5 ppg, 6.0 rpg).

also (3-0) and finally winning games they hadn't won in the last decade, and Shy Ely (16.3 ppg, 6.0 rpg) may have finally found the talent he was projected to have after 3 years. They go on the road to Butler on Friday, so maybe then we'll see if they are truly for real.

basically because they were picked to finish last and I didn't think they'd show up, but they managed to beat Arkansas Sat. and have been surprising so far, especially the play of the Freshman Cardell McFarland, who just so happens to be from----EVANSVILLE, IN

What can you really say about the Bulldogs that wasn't said about ISU? Oh, well...they DID play someone, but unfortunately they lost that game to Butler, and even more notable, it was at home, and by double digits...yes, I know it was a 6 point game with :42 tics left, but that doesn't excuse the fact that after 3 games the only real player on the floor is Josh Young (26.5 ppg), with Jonanthan Cox only finally having a decent game (15pts, 9rb) in yesterday's win over lowly South Dakota State who may challenge Western Illinois for the cellar in the Summit League.
8 - UNI - 13 points
UNI is a real tough one to figure out because they got man handled for the majority of their game at UIC, and you would have assumed that they would fail to close one of the two home games they've played so far, but they didn't...As well as Jordan Eglseder (20 ppg, 7 rpg) and Ali "I can't even pronounce your last name let alone spell it" (16.5 ppg) are playing, any basketball analyst or fan for that matter would have to assume that dressing 9 players and only playing 8 is eventually going to bite you in the behind.
9 - WSU - 5 points
What really is there positive to say at this point about the program at Wichita State? I mean I could go with Ramon Clemente being a beast on the glass (14.5 rpg)? Or maybe I could talk about the decent play of their two Freshman Murray (10.5 ppg) and Stutz (9.0 ppg)? Then again lets just discuss the fact that they beat a really poor Florida A&M team BAD and then proceeded to drop the ball and lose at home to Missouri-Kansas City. The team doesn't exactly shoot the ball well from the line (46% v UMKC) and they haven't shot well from 3 so far (26%) so there is much room for improvement there, but there's also a long way to go down if they stop outrebounding opponents by 18 per game. They have a very rough stretch from 11/27 to 12/12 where they play @ Georgetown, @ Texas Tech, and @ TCU before heading home to play Gardner-Webb...I fully expect them to lose all 4 games.

Its been an awful start to Kevin McKenna's season...and it was awful before the whistle even blew during the preseason. Did anyone think they'd hear this after the first game---leading scorer for the Indiana State Sycamores, Rashad Reed? Who is Rashad Reed you ask? Well, he's just the guy who took the spot left vacant in the starting lineup when Marico Stinson decided he wanted no more of Terre Haute. Along with that, another notable player has disappeared. Harry Marshall has not been heard of since the blue-white scrimmage as I'm certain there is an injury, but he hasn't been discussed on their website at all pertaining to anything. This team better start playing defense because its hard enough to win games in college basketball with a sub average team, let alone do it when you're giving up 83 points a game. Along with that, they also better win their home games because away from the Hulman Center is going to be a tough road this season for the Sycamores.
