The bigger they are the harder they fall. Misfortunate. Redshirt?

Evans can"t redshirt as he already did last season.

of course he isn't eligible for a redshirt this year, since he spent last season redshirting.
but there have been 6th year waivers....so if he decides NOT to try to come back this season, that is still a possibility but wouldn't be decided until after his 5th year.

Good luck w/ that one....he doesn't go to Iowa, Kansas, or Kentucky remember...

That being said, what did anyone see in Bocot that they were impressed by? His shot was awful, he doesn't like to pass the ball at all, and his dribbling like he's playing on a street ball court in the inner city leaves a lot to be desired...

I feel bad for Evans as the injury happened on a weird play, and even w/ it being SIU, you never want to see someone get injured...especially not like that...it was pretty nasty...

Yes Fay has gotten remarkably better, but there is one thing he hasn't really incorporated into his game....PASSING...he needs to do a little more of that and a little less of taking the bad shot...

Here is a Creighton injury report...........

starter Josh Carter, the high scoring juco transfer......
injured his right leg and was placed in a walking boot with concerns about achilles tendon injury.
He didn't rupture the tendon as Dana Altman confirmed but the injury could be a "long-time" thing...

"Carter's contributions ended after getting fouled hard.....on the play
that left Carter with a sore Achilles tendon. He left the arena after the game
with his right leg in a walking boot.
Creighton coach Dana Altman said it's too early to tell what Carter's status
will be for Tuesday's game at Arkansas-Little Rock.

"His Achilles is intact, which is great because if it wasn't, he'd be done,"
Altman said. "He is awfully sore. It could be one of the long-time things. It's
like a sprained ankle, maybe worse. We're just going to have to wait and
            see."

BTW--- here is the report from the saluki board about Evans
            "Broken wrist.... "
"...terrible news. Sounds like a season ender."

then later it is said that it hasn't yet been confirmed...there has still been no confirmation....just as I had initially reported....
it was the reports on the saluki board that jumped the gun and reported the fracture as fact, not me...

I don't know....I mean I'm not a doctor or anything and I don't play one on tv, but there's a huge difference between an ankle injury and an achilles injury...

And Evans...that was Friday was it not? Maybe they're waiting for the swelling to go down...?

Here is the play where Creighton's Josh Carter is injured by an intentional foul.
the game is close at this point and this foul turns it around..

Now the official report on Saluki center Nick Evans is a fracture in his left wrist. He is out 4-6 weeks. Tough luck for Evans.

Nick Evans is reported to have a broken bone in his wrist, and one of the posters on the SIU board states it is his "pisiform" bone, the smallest of the 8 carpal bones that make up the wrist.

"Fractures are rare. The pisiform is typically injured by a fall on an
outstretched hand in a dorsiflexed position, with the impact on the
                    hypothenar eminence."

Healing time is said to be 4-12 weeks, but if it is his non-shooting hand, he may be able to return earlier with a brace.
He is slated to return about the time SIU comes to Bradley on 12/28.

Also, SIU's Brandon Allen underwent arthroscopic knee surgery and reportedly had bone fragments removed, and may be out a couple weeks.
He has not yet played any minutes.
Torres Roundtree started & suffered a bruised knee in the UMass game on Nov. 12, leaving the game after just 5 minutes. He then attempted to play
in the Duke game, but that might have been a bit too premature of a return as he was removed in less than one minute and then didn't play at all in the UCLA game.
He returned to play 15 min. against Western Kentucky last Wednesday, scoring 3 pts. in the 79-70 loss.
He should be available for the game tonight vs. Saint Louis.
This game between SIUC (2-3) and Saint Louis (2-3) (both teams having one win over a DII) also is a reunion between two of SIUC's freshmen from McCluer HS
(Booker & Roundtree), and their old high school teammate, Femi John from McCluer who is at Saint Louis.
John has only played a few seconds of just one game so far this season, while Roundtree (1.3 points per game)
was a starter for SIUC before his injury and Booker (3 ppg) has averaged 14 mpg.

Reports are that SIU center Nick Evans had a cast removed and may be able to play in SIU's next game.
