Though he hasn't stood out in the NBA yet, I would say he is far from an underachiever.
How many of us can say we are in the top .01% of our field?

By the way, I have watched Aaron Gray as a part-time starter and regular center for the Bulls. I wonder how more success POB would have had if he had the chance, like Gray is getting. I think most of will agree POB would be better than Gray if given the opportunity. A lot of a players' success in the NBA is based on getting an chance to play, which POB hasn't had.
POB is 7 feet tall with a wingspan of well over 7 feet (I think 7'7") and that has given him his opportunity. What is the percentage of college players over 7 feet tall with his wingspan? When you have that number, you can refigure your statistics, otherwise your statistics are invalid from a scientific point of view and virtually meaningless as a way to compare POB with other college players.

I really wish the Bulls would have given POB a shot....I know he would be getting playing time...they are about the weakest team in the nba @ center and this would be the best case senario for playing time! The celts are not the place for POB to get on the floor, they are in posistion to repeat as champs IMO and will do whats needed to do that...the Bulls are in permanent rebuilding since MJ left and that will conmtinue.....on the brighter side just maybe POB can get a ring!

POB has made his money--more than my 9 years of college will ever make, but he is becoming a complete waste of size and talent. He is a classic underachiever.
Gentlemen this is why I like message boards, because we can agree to disagree. My take is that Perdue was awful! I don't care how many rings he has or what he did in College! Who doesn't think POB had the potential & talent to be MVC player of the year if he'd have played to his Sr year? Anyway, I was talking about once these players get to the NBA. And if I remember correctly for at least one of Perdue's championship rings the Bulls didn't even see fit to activate him. I used him as a example because he was a player who if he were 3 inches shorter at 6'9" would have never graced an NBA court. I would estimate I watched over 80% of his games throughout his career with the Bulls and have no qualms saying he sucked. Even in wikipedia they label him as an underacheiver and have a quote of MJ dissing him. My point was that similar to Gray's situation, given the PT, POB would have put up better numbers. Actually, I'm not anal enough to calculate production per minute of play, but I'd bet that POB's numbers are better. Like Big Mike said, POB may walk away with a ring this year as well, so I guess using others logic, even if he doesn't contribute to that ring in any way he will be a better player next year for having it on his finger?
