played 6 minutes in last night's win over the Pistons. He was two of three from the field for 4 points, committed one turnover, and had one board.

I don't think he looked very good. It's year 3 for POB, sooner or later it's either going to click or it isn't. Oh well. Johnny's Italian Steakhouse will always be waiting!

At least, he's reactivated. Or is the entire roster activated for home games?

No, each team can have 12 players active, and up to 3 inactive. The Celts sent JR Giddens to the D-League, so I think they now have 2 players on inactive, plus their 12 active players.

I watch him get an offensive rebound then proceed to make a slow soft move into a fade away jumper that got stuffed immediately. How a 7'0 get rejected on a fade away is beyond me.

Counteract that with an up and under. Hoop and harm!

Got some garbage time today in a blowout of the Kings.

              The good:

              5 Pts on 2-2 shooting, 4 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 assist in 6 minutes.

              The bad:

              4 fouls, 3 turnovers in 6 minutes.

I can't figure out the NBA - Will Perdue was never any good but stuck with the Bulls for what felt like forever and got pretty regular playing time. POB is a much better player and athlete and does put numbers (neg & pos) on the stat sheet whenever he gets regular playing time. I'm not sure why (because I've always heard he was a very amiable person) but he seems to rub coaches the wrong way.

It is fustrating. (much like watching AT on BU)
POB seems to become a victim of his own "potential"
Sometimes he seems to produce at a near all-star level, but much of the time his performance drops down. I guess most NBA coaches want the consistancy more than potential on the floor. I'ms also guessing that Will Perdue did not get paid (initially) like POB's lotto pick.

He was the 11th pick in the 1988 NBA Draft (lottery), but I don't know about the pay.

No question POB is #14 or #15 on their roster right now, and the Celtics seem determined to win another championship, and have a lot of money to spend. So if they feel they can improve by signing a veteran post player, they will. There is talk of coaxing PJ Brown out of retirement (he played on the 2007-2008 championship team). Patrick's contract for this year is guaranteed, so he'll get his money, but I am sure he wants to stick with the team.

I am not sure how you can say that POB is a better player the Will Perdue. Will Perdue was the SEC player of the year in 88, I dont beleive POB was player of the year anywhere ever. They both were 11th picks overall.

Perdue won 4 NBA championships. Until POB does anything in the NBA, sorry you can not even compare the two because Perdue did it for 13 years and even if his numbers are not great they are better then POB's.

POB's problem is simply staying out of foul trouble. Ever since he got in the NBA he has averaged a foul about every 3 to 4 minutes. He seems to do great in the D-league, perhaps a trip to play in Europe will help him.

Agreed. Perdue was better and will always be better until POB proves it. Being more athletic (running and jumping better) means very little if you don't know how to play the game or don't show a passion for the game. POB has made his money--more than my 9 years of college will ever make, but he is becoming a complete waste of size and talent. He is a classic underachiever.

This is an extreme hyperbole. Patrick has done what less than 1/10 of 1% of college players are able to do. He has used his physical skills to make it to the NBA. He was a lottery pick, and the odds of any college basketball player achieving that are more like 1/100th of 1%. He is earning millions, not to mention his success in college. Though he hasn't stood out in the NBA yet, I would say he is far from an underachiever.
How many of us can say we are in the top .01% of our field?

By the way, I have watched Aaron Gray as a part-time starter and regular center for the Bulls. I wonder how more success POB would have had if he had the chance, like Gray is getting. I think most of will agree POB would be better than Gray if given the opportunity. A lot of a players' success in the NBA is based on getting an chance to play, which POB hasn't had.
