Here is a scoreboard to follow the 2 MVC games--

The SIU-UCLA gamne is on ESPN2 at 4:00 pm CST.

The ISU-Alabama State game starts at 5:00 pm and is the first game of the SMU Classic in Dallas. It is not on TV anywhere that I can find, but can be followed by Gametracker--

Non-conference opponents are 13-12 coming into today, but that's due to four teams having a 9-1 record. The other seven teams have a 4-11 record.

No self-respecting DI should lose to a SWAC team.

If ISU loses to Alabama State it will do irreparable damage to the Valley.

                16 min to go....UCLA up 39-35

same foul trouble....Nick Evans 2 fouls in just a few minutes played, and Tony Boyle already has 3 fouls as does Fay!

UCLA went over 9 minutes without a field goal, and yet SIU simply could not take advantage...BTW Booker has 3 fouls also

12 min to go , UCLA up 48-43, as poorly as UCLA is shooting, they have never trailed
Total fouls are virtually even (5 on each team so far this half) yet SIU fans think they're getting jobbed

SIU suddenly starts getting careless, turnovers, and gambling on defense, leading to a 9-0 run by UCLA as they go up 57-48
Fay not effective at all as he keeps going back into the 3-pt mode and roaming the periphery.
UCLA up 59-50, game is on ESPN2 - 7:40 to play

warm up the bus...UCLA now has a nearly 20 point lead.
What gives, SIU folds about the 30 minute mark of each game?
Mullins with a bad game as well...7 pts, no rebs, one asst. a few turnovers and 4 fouls

And just like last night, SIU can't keep it close in the last 10 minutes. UCLA is up 18 with under 4 mins left. The UCLA run started with several TOs by Mullins, the same guy whose implosion cost them a preseason game vs SLU last season, and at least one conference game (I can't remember which one). He's a dang good PG, I just don't get why he suddenly gets so lazy in these games.

On a side note, UCLA just had an amazing sequence of a steal, behind the back pass, breakaway, another behind the back pass and Aboya finished with a dunk. It is especially impressive because both passes weren't showy, they were the most efficient way to get the ball to a teammate given the defensive positioning. I'm sure it will be a top 1-2 play of the day.

I hope it helps their RPI to play a good team away from home since it won't help much else,
as SIU goes to 2-2 , but 1-2 in the NCAA eyes since the win against a DII is worthless.
