Must be regional viewing for that ESPN360 link you posted MacabreMob, it's only offering live view for the Florida game here on my screen in Peoria.

There are Regional Blackouts... but I did have to wait til I got the game going. I don't get my internet from Peo area - maybe why I get the game.

          65-63 UIUC

SIU will play the loser of the UCLA/Mich game.
Watched the entire game, and here is my take. The SIU freshmen looked good at times, but I don't understand Lowery's tendency to play 3 or 4 of them at a time. The freshmen just don't play the typical SIU game, take quick shots, take low-percentage shots, get beat too many times on defense, then reach and get fouls. And as I said before, none of them are real good shooters, but they all seem to have the green light to launch quick shots.
This game was still a winnable game after 32+ minutes, but it got away from them when they didn't take care of the ball, took bad shots, and stopped playing SIU defense. I don't think I've ever seen a team go from 7 points down to nearly 30 points down as fast as SIU did in this game.
I still think they will be a top 3-4 team in the MVC, but their outside shooting woes will hurt them.

Well, UIUC wins on the road 69-63.

"I guess Vandy won't be much this year." (that's my "drive-by" statement like Lee Hall's comment when Bradley beat Michigan) LOL!

Very true... it was definitely one of those games that looked too good to be true...and it was.

U of I is going to be a team that will beat Wisconsin on the road and lose to Tennessee State (wait that was last year...) at home... gonna be inconsistent all year and that is why I would never bet on them... solid road W for the Illini

Unfortunately for SIU, they took too many bad shots in the first half when they had the chance to pull way ahead of Duke. Maybe if Duke spots SIU a 15 point lead, they still come back and win. But the momentum would have made it more difficult for Duke to come back.

Anyway, these are the type of games that the Valley needs to win to climb up to the next level. Games against great teams on neutral sites don't come up often, and I think SIU had a good shot blown tonight. That said, they are still a relatively young team and probably not quite at the level of Duke to say the least. But sooner or later we need to steal one of those.

SIU looks like the same team we have seen over the last 2 years; good defense but has trouble on offense; BU could have problems trying to defend their 2 big men .

In the other game involving an MVC team--

Creighton clobbered Arkansas-Pine Bluff 82-50. A lot of minutes for the bench players.

                            Collins and Skiles officiating...

Was there even any focus on the game...?

                            49 fouls...ahem...

They got Carlton Fay and Nick Evans and Bradley got Will Egolf and Anthony Thompson. Those two are so far ahead of Bradley's two post players it's frightening. And only going to get worse going forward.

What?? Evans is only in the game because of the fouls on all the other big guys. He has a couple buckets but he is inexperienced, fouls every time he defends someone, and can't hit FT.

SIU was actually hanging tough until they got completely out of their offense and guys like Bocot & Dillard starting trying to take on Duke one-on-three.
That pass by Bocot to Kyle Singler that resulted in a dunk, an intentional foul, two more FT's then the ball out of bounds as well as the 5th foul on Evans...was a very, very costly play.

In the end....this game turned out a whole lot like the BU-Florida game. BU also hung tough through much of the 1st half, then pulled within single digits as late as midway through the 2nd half, then kinda got homered with foul calls and succumbed to a late rally that placed the final margin over 20 points.
Oddly...showing the usual bias...one observer on another board says this...
"BU got smoked by Florida, SIU hung with Duke for 30 minutes".....ha, ha, ha....
The truth is BU lost by less than SIU did, and BU was closer at the 10 minute mark than SIU was.
DUKE isn't as good as the Top 10 ranking suggests, as they almost LOST at home to Rhode Island!

as for the Creighton game...sure they won easy...but P'Allen did his Jekyll & Hyde act again....He was 0-5

PS-- have I mentioned that I like Carlton Fay, and the fact that he has refined his game and stays with 15 feet of the basket, has helped immensely.
In fact, take away Fay and Duke blows out ot a 20 point 1st half margin and probably wins by 40.
Last year, Lowery had Fay roaming the periphery jacking up long threes, and it just wasn't working!
