Two games that interest me the most are the UNI/UIC game and UMKC/WSU game. I don't think UNI is very good, and I think UIC is pretty good, so I expect the Flames to take that one. With UMKC being our next opponent, and WSU looking to bounce back from a disappointing year, I am interested to see just what the Shocks bring to the table this year.
    Onward and Upward!

The Kangaroos of UMKC were in a position to be one of the better teams in the Summit...not necessarily because they are great but because it appears to be a down year even by Summit standards.

So...to start the season the Summit has gone a combined 1-11, with UMKC going 0-1 but still having the 2nd highest RPI in the conference.

But they had to start the year off playing at Kansas....and didn't do as badly as some might have though, losing at Kansas 71-56.

But Wichita should beat them and hopefully Bradley can knock them off.

These are the type of games the Valley needs to sweep to reestablish a stranglehold on the #7 CRPI spot.

sadly for ISU, right as we speak, Alabama State's RPI = 330
            and SOS = 327

I know it's early, and maybe it'll get better through the season, but then again....probably not.

ISU should win this game but probably it'll cause their RPI to plummet even if they win!

            ISU's RPI is 256

I was reading this and til I got to the last portion of your statement, it didn't make much sense, because really, when has the Summit....Mid-Con...whatever you want to call it ever been up? I mean they had their times when Valpo was in the conference and Oral Roberts shows up occasionally every 2-3 years, and then maybe IUPUI gets a big win every 4 years, but really...the Southland conference is calling the Summit a joke...

I think if they played a challenge v the OVC they'd get drubbed....and THAT is saying something....

All the game tonight shall really show us is either how bad their league is or how the upper team from their conference matches up w/ a bottom feeder in ours...

I said a down year "even by Summit standards", which I think suggests plainly that I know they are a bad conference.
But they finished 35-63 vs. DI last year, and..
yet they are 1-11 so far this season....and probably will do much worse than 35 non-conference wins this season.

Were most of those wins from Oral Roberts and IUPUI? I would almost think they would have to be...

                  Yeah, they are BAD....

Then again, anyone who gets their team up in that conference of note has obviously left shortly thereafter for better situations....and really, who could blame them.

so you are saying you think most of 35 non-conference wins are coming from Oral Roberts???

no...Oral Roberts had 4 non-conference wins last year, and were 4-7 overall outside of the Summit.
Even RPI 330 South Dakota State had 4 non-conference wins...same as ORU, and Centenary had five non-conference wins...including one over Texas Tech.

                    Check it out.

I'm not saying they will be, but Oakland's schedule will at least provide them the opportunity to build an at-large resume.

In general, I think the top four teams in the Summit will be very good (ORU, Oakland, IUPUI, NDSU). Granted Centenary, WIU, and SDSU will have a long ways to go, I think the Summit will have one of it's finest seasons in some time. And all four of them may see postseason.

You wanna talk about bad. . .look at the SWAC: 1-18. The win is a non-DI and so are at least two of the losses.

I think UNI's score is a notable one, as I believe UIC will contend for the Horizon League title this year. The other two are deeply, deeply disturbing. It's going to be a very bottom-heavy league this year.
