  • Season Tip-Off Marathon

ESPN is kicking off the season with 23 hours of basketball tonight starting at 11 with Memphis taking on UMass. There is a game on right now (Eastern Michigan-Purdue) and the games go all the way until 4 in the morning, then start up again tomorrow morning at like 10. I'm really pumped for this, basketball all night long!! Anyone else watching?

The beginning of ESPN's 2008-09 college basketball season is highlighted by 23 consecutive hours of coverage.

Wow, the first seven minutes of this game between UMass and Memphis have been like watching tv in fast forward, neither team has had the ball with single-digits on the shot clock. Umass' new coach, Derek Kellog, was an assistant at Memphis before going to coach the Minutemen. It looks like he wants to turn them into a version of Memphis.

This is going to be a very entertaining game for everyone that doesn't favor defense.

So far this game has more turnovers than a Sara Lee factory...

Hey hey ... haha. It looks like a game at Haussler. You have the ball, you shoot it.

Memphis is up 33-25 at the half of an ugly game of basketball. UMass is playing sloppy and has 15 turnovers already, but Memphis is chucking it from all over the floor and has only made one of about 10 three-point attempts.

On another note, Memphis' uniforms are hideous. White on the front and a off-white/cream color on the back.

Memphis wins Game One of the basketball fest 80-58. It was closer then the final score shows, Memphis is really athletic but their shot selection was terrible and they really struggled to shoot the three, at one point late in the second half they were 2-17.
