No, we do not! In fact, we run away from them on occasion.

Exactly! He had more minutes at this point last season.

I agree. Thanks for the words of optimism, Mike.

As I posted a couple months ago- Jim did not want to play Florida this early, or this year. He felt his team would not match up well, and could be blown out. But they had no choice, when the Top of the World Classsic folded. This was their best option, and they were promised a first round game at either Florida or Syracuse. Jim thought we stood a chance at Syracuse, and lobbied to get them, but it didn't work out that way. It does help our RPI, but otherwise we just have to hope it's a learning experience.

I thought the only way we could hang in with UF would be if our 3-point shooters got hot. That didn't happen.

              Terrible shooters all?
It is when they were the only ones making them....

I'm sorry to say but Andrew Warren coming back gives open shots to other guys yes, but it has already been proven that we've had the open shots...guys just aren't making them and most haven't looked remotely good in taking the 3...

This is not the offense that will win us games...

This group of guys are going to win inside the arc...w/ an occasional 3...

If it takes us the majority of the season to figure out, we're gonna be in a big hole...

When Andruw comes back, our best lineup as of this point is Sam S., Taylor B., Theron or Chris, Andrew, and Dodie running the point...

Sorry guys, but I just don't see how Sam M. earns the minutes unless he remembers how to shoot the 3 or gets worlds better on D...

Taylor has earned much more time w/ his play and would like to see him push Theron over to the 3 and maybe even see him get minutes w/ BOTH Theron and CRob on the floor at the same time....

Either way, please, no more Edge and Sam M. on the floor at the same time...we're way too short that way, Sam doesn't play any D, and neither are shooting the ball at even an average clip...

Up front, Sam S. has outplayed DC once again and has EARNED himself a start at the 5...

              A couple final things...

Why did it take us down to 3 min left to get Will in? Is he not practicing well to deserve the time?! I mean, I'm pretty sure I could go in at this point and push DC off the block as he's softer than the Charmin...well, you know...

Finally, why did Florida have their starters in almost to the end? Glad to see JL and Donovan's friendship is blossoming....or is that just a simple we're from the SEC so we're showing our superiority?

No post season and here's why.

We have four possible ways to get in.

                  1) Beat Florida for the at large 'signature win' argument (didnt happen)
                  2) Beat Michigan State for the same reason (wont happen)
                  3) Go on a ridiculous winning streak beginning in January and go to the MVC finals like in 2006. Small percentage chance of happening. We always have injury or other issues.
                  4) Win the MVC. We haven't done that in awhile. Dont think thats happening either.

We have 4 more games to learn how to shoot the 3 and then we're kind of screwed. I know its Florida and there was no chance of winning but we only showed up for 8-10 minutes tops. DC with his regular problems.
Wow. Hmm. Did you really expect to win this game? We were playing one of the nation's elite programs without one of the MVC's best players. Despite struggling to shoot the 3, we had this game in single digits under 10 minutes to play. I am actually encouraged that Dunson and Roberts seem to be quality immediate contributors, and that McCain and Brown seem to have identified roles off the bench. Sam M needs to shoot better, and we need to get a big to step up, but two games in I think we're figuring things out earlier than we did last year. I am excited about what this team could develop into if/when Warren gets healthy. You may be right, but don't you think that November 16 is a little early to proclam 'no postseason'?

and you are preaching to the choir about getting Will Egolf more minutes.

Great point BradleyBrave! Not only did we NOT have our best player and outside shooter, but we stepped off the plane in uniform to play this game. Again, I thought we looked really good. We just couldn't hit from outside.

Oh, and I thought Sam Singh looked GREAT today! He's my starter; Collins is just too soft.

I don't see how Guinness could possibly have come to a conclusion that we have to beat Michigan State or have a long win streak to make the tourney. It's a long season. I'm sure we'll have some bad losses. I am pretty optimistic though. That is an over the top conclusion to make. We haven't played that badly so far. Give it time, it's a long season.

might need to rethink that one, the only way we could hang with fla is with sm at the end of the bench. did'nt happen

If WE doesn't deserve the minutes he shouldn't get any. He's not a freshman anymore. I am sure that Jim would be getting him in there if he deserved to play.

I think that the DC/SS rotation is fine. I think DC is the type of guy who probably needs to start and get loose early, and SS is more the type of guy that can handle a bench role. The only tweaking of the starting lineup I think would be inserting AW somewhere.

Agreed! Guinness is usually right on but he's wrong on this. I think this team has a chance to "find their style" and get hot to finish top three in the MVC and steal the MVC Tourney if we don't win the regular season. I see another 20+ win season and fourth postseason appearance in a row from this team.

Oh, and Dodie Dunson.............. MVC Newcomer of the Year, Player of the Year, or both!

In all honesty, I find it hard to believe that Will could be as soft as DC...
There are a lot of things to like about this team and I belive this team can improve... butI would like for JL to tweak some things to light a fire under a couple of players.
