Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think EMac is the guy who got the schollie JL yanked from Daniel West. I thought at the time that JL would have taken the academic risk on West and kept him in the fold unless he had somebody he liked an awful lot waiting in the wings. Could have been a good trade, eh?

Here is a little backstory that can now be told--
We can thank Coach Alvin Brooks III for EM. He knew about him before he was working for Bradley. His father, AB II, really liked him and recruited him out of Houston when he was an assistant at Texas A&M under Billy Gillispie. That's where EM would probably be if that coaching staff had stayed at A&M. When that staff moved to Kentucky, they moved on to other recruits, and they suggested AB III get on EM for Bradley. By then EM had moved to Reserve Christian and was falling under the radar. It all worked in Bradley's favor. It doesn't guarantee EM will be a star, but I like what I've seen, and the best is yet to come. Some who have watched a lot of practices say he may be the best passer we have had here in a while.

And, yes, the scholarship that Eddren McCain got, would have probably not been available had Daniel West remained on target academically.

He seems to have a little bit of Anthony Manuel in him........... I think he's gonna be a good one

I kinda thought the same thing - but not completely.

When I first saw AM, he wowed me with his passing. Edge has wowed me with his complete package which is (IMO) Speed/D/Passing/Composure - Yes, he's a good one!

I love Eddrens game and think he will be a great player for us over his four years. I have to say I like all three of the freshman....Eddren, Darian and Taylor. Taylor is the one that has surprised me the most, what a solid late pickup he was!!! Now lets get the last one on campus and this could be a very special class!!!! Was anyone else expecting Taylor to be this good?

I thought TB would have a chance to be good down the road.....but he really gets me excited with his hustle and energy he brings to the game.....if TB keeps improving JL with have to find ways to keedp him on the floor.....he is playing better than a freshman IMO.....so is EM!

Edge projects out well, I like what I have seen from him already. He needs to be a bit more assertive offensively and look to score, but other than that I think he looks pretty comfortably running the point so far.

Thanks for the insight, I knew Edge had a great skill set but did not know how we got turned on to him or who else was after him. He will be a special player before yearend...

As a freshman, he was ranked #49 in his class nationally by hoopscooponline--

Here he was rated #98 by Hoopscooponline when he was a sophomore--

And in another hoopscooponline ranking, when he was a junior, he was #129--

                        This site had him #80--

There were a couple other rankings that also had him in their top 100 nationally prior to his senior year, but those other sites don't exist any more.
