Jim was on with the Saturday morning sports guys. He talked briefly about last night's game, and about the Florida game. The team is leaving for Gainesville, Florida early tomorrow morning by charter flight.
They decided to travel on game day because there were no hotel rooms available near Gainesville because South Carolina and Steve Spurrier are in town to play Florida in a big football game today.

We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

Their are dissadvantages of traveling and playing on the same day, but at least the players should get a good night of sleep in their own beds plus they will not have so many distractions as they arrive and go straight to the arena tomorrow.

But Jim Les actually prefers to travel on game day as long as it's a charter. Traveling on game day with commercial flights would not be good.
But at least the kids get a good night's sleep, and they travel directly from the gainesville airport to the arena.
If they stayed in a hotel, it would probably be a hour or 2 away from the arena, and they could take almost as ling to get to the arena.
Plus coaches do not like all the distractions that go along with staying on the road.
