    And why didn't WE play?
AW was still feeling some pain in his foot the other day and the staff is not taking any chances. These injuries though healed can hurt for awhile.

On WE, I expect that we will not see much of him early on as well as AT. I think you pretty much saw our rotation and with AW coming back I expect that the chances of seeing WE coming off the bench is even less.

When would have you put him in and better yet who would have he replaced?

JL also said that Andrew will not play this Sunday against Florida.

Nice win, we still have a lot of areas to improve on, we did seem much better tonight at rebounding and of course shooting ft's. Our 3 pt shooting wasnt great but DD made a huge one when it really counted.

How long though can we go with playing Singh 23 minutes?

Its really to bad Mr Collins falls asleep during games, he really is missing a huge opportunity. Me thinks eventually if his trend of going bye bye during games his minutes will become AT's and or WE. Eventually JL will as last year tire of Collins' act.

I have been hard on BU for not playing defense and rebounding over the last 2 years. Tonight was much, much better. I also, thought they played with more intensity than UIC. I thought most played well. I especially credit Dodie for his defense, Sam Singh for playing tough for many more minutes than he is use to playing. I like how the freshman Brown plays, he could be a sleeper before his time is done.

Again, the officials were calling a very tight game, like MVC refs are known to do. If we could ever get a game called like most major conferences, Collins wouldn't get so many silly fouls.

I am not surprised that there were a lot of fouls called. Officials usually do this early in the season due to points of emphasis. It usually calms down as the season goes on. DC needs to stop moving on the screens as they are a point of emphasis this year.

I'm not saying I would. I just remember all the glowing reports on WE's progress during the summer.

Somebody please teach DC how to screen.

Regarding fouls, the zebras came ever so close to calling a T on Chris Robert's tip dunk. That would have been *&(*&(**&$%^

                    You are absolutely right.

What makes me chuckle, though, is Moving Screens have been a Point of Emphasis for I don't know how long.

At least hand-checking has seemed to die down a little.

I think the refs may have called a delay of game warning after the Chris Roberts dunk because one of the Braves tapped the ball away.

                        Thanks DC.

I was unaware of all that.

I would like to have seen AT or WE... But the defensive commitment was superior in the second half.

                            Here is an interesting tidbit--
2 NBA scouts sat next to us in section 12. One was scouting for the Chicago Bulls, and the other was reluctant to say who he was scouting for. And they also didn't want to say which players they were looking at.
I suspect they were looking at Vandemeer and Mayo, since they were the only seniors with a longshot at the NBA.
Incidentally, the second scout was Joey Meyer, the former DePaul coach!

That was a nice win for the Braves, and even better because I got to go and wasn't expecting to.

A few things that stuck out in my mind:

                              - The rebounding was much better tonight that I can remember it being all of last year. The way TW was pulling them in tonight I wouldn't be suprised if he grabs 8+ per game this season.

                              - I was a little disappointed when I saw that Sammy had 4 turnovers to only 1 assist, but I can't really complain since we won.

                              - Our 3-point shooting wasn't particularly good, but I get the feeling that when AW returns, he'lll help improve that with his good shooting and will also draw away some defensive pressure from the other guys and help them get better looks. So, I'm not too worried about that.

                              - Dodie certainly wasn't afraid to go inside and draw fouls. I hope he keeps that up!

                              - There wasn't anyone who did something so silly that he made me scream "what the hell are you doing," so that's always a good sign

How about the game Sam Singh played! Only 2 points but 1 steal, 1 block shot, 7 rebounds (3 Off) and 22 mins. BU was behind by 5 early in the 2nd half when he came in and he played the rest of the way. The team moved the ball a lot better once he was in there. As JL said the guards started looking for his screens more and his ball movement. Good pass's and no turn overs. His phyical play was shown all over the floor, knocking balls out, diving for balls and cutting off the lane. But besides the 1 real good looking shot Vandermeer made (which JL said Sam played it right) early in the 2nd half, he had 1 point rest of the game. Sam had him pushed so far back out of the paint he had no shot.. Just a great game by him.
There is no team in the the MVC that can match up to us the whole game, if our bigs come to play! BU will win the the MVC this year!
