I know this had been mentioned before.... Now that we're on the eve of our season, anybody want to take the lead on compiling results? I think it sounds like fun, and can do it unless somebody else really wants to.
If you're not familiar with power rankings, most sports sites rank teams in different leagues in their so-called power rankings. These rankings are meant as a way to compare teams across divisions, leagues, etc, (i.e. NL vs. AL) and are not necessarily directly reflective of record. For example, a team with a record of 8-4 might be ranked lower than a team with a record of 7-5, because of the quality of opponents. they are totally subjective, and just for fun.
So ...
.. anybody in?
some ground rules:
1) rankings must be turned in by midnight (12:00 am) on Monday - will be compiled and published Tuesday [will take into account weekend games]. I'll try to post a reminder on Sunday to get your rankings to me.
2) will be compiled by giving the teams from 0-9 points, with first place receiving 9 points and last place receiving no points. Average will be taken.
3) a tie results in both teams receiving the same ranking, but team with a better overall record will be listed higher. in the case that is identical, teams will be listed alphabetically.
And, there's one item for discussion ...
Let's do this anonymously (people PM me their rankings) so we don't get too much "Bradley Bias". And, maybe we have a featured ranker each week.. (similar to other websites "celebrity rankings". Nothings to keep you from posting your ranking publicly, but I think this would be the most fun and fair way to do it.
