[QUOTE=ER3;97456]But where did he ever actually say that BU was "worse than all those other schools with far, far more serious violations"?
That is what you infer from his "renegade program" statement...but that was not his statement. We had a bad stretch last year where multiple players got in trouble with the law...those incidents wound up in the paper...an outsider read about those incidents, and obviously had the thoughts, "wow, what the heck is going on there at BU?...Has Les lost control of his program or what?"...so he gave his opinion on our program based his interpretation of the legal issues going on...
So a "bad stretch" as you put it makes a program "renegade?" WOW. IF he was asking "did Les lose control of the program" then OBVIOUSLY he didn't know if he had or hadn't. Nothing wrong with questioning what was going on and seeking answers but basing his use of calling us a renegade program off of a couple incidents is going to far IMO.
Renegade is outside the norm IMO....its above and beyond what is happening at most other places. Its repeating the same incidents with no policy, direction or control from all those involved. Its an administration that turns its head and in essence condones the behaviors by NOT taking action. Does any of this describe BU. I don't think so.
Question what is going on then do a follow up. Ask questions like...was punishment swift and in proportion to the "crime". Have there been repeated incidents? How have the players involved done since the incidents?
Sorry but he was irresponsible and needs to be called out in a professional manner IMO.
