  • Allen Iverson traded for Chauncey Billups, Antonio McDyess

The Pistons, in a move that significantly alters the core of a team that had lost in three consecutive Eastern Conference finals, acquired Iverson for Billups -- a Denver native -- along with veteran forward Antonio McDyess.

As a big Bulls fan (despite a decade of penny-pinching and mismanagement), I like this deal. I like it because the Pistons just got a lot worse. Iverson is a cancer and will make them awful. Good for the Bulls.

I don't understand this move. I think Chauncey Billups adds more to the team than Allen Iverson.

Iverson is one for one worse then Billups. This makes no sense.

I like the deal. AI can still play, and he will put up better numbers then Billups did. The Pistons have reached a point where they cannot get to the next level with the "core" that they had. Why not mix it up? AI will score, add toughness, and I think that with the speed of him and Hamilton.. they will be one of the quickest backcourts in the league. Also, weren't the Pistons saying all preseason that Rodney Stuckey was looking better then Billups anyway?

I agree. AI, no matter what always plays hard, he might have to reign in his shooting a bit more but I think with a veteran team and a real chance of winning he will play team ball. Someone said he is a cancer, not sure what that means. He is one of the toughest players even in the NBA and never takes a night off and practically took a bad 76's team to a finals. I guess his its practice thing still makes people think he is less then a team guy or a cancer of some sort.

Also, he is in his last year of his contract so his money comes off the books next year... one good year out of him and he moves on from the Pistons. Probably not a real bad deal for them.

Wallace is also in his last year and there are a few really good players who will be available next year. CAP room move is all this was, a forward thinking move by the Pistons nothing more. AI will sell seats this year and it will be hard press for the Pistons to do anything with Chauncy regardless. Good move by the Pistons for their future!
